Villa in Sicily, Syracuse / Brucoli with sea & Etna view close to sea beach
Villa 'Gardens Brucoli' is situated on the east coast of Sicily, just 20 minutes from the airport of Catania, near the ancient city of Baroque Siracusa, Noto, Marzamemi. There are approximately 500 meters passable on foot or by car to the sea of Brucoli which offers a sandy beach reserved for residents and here you will also find the famous 'balata' - a wonderful natural rock plateau white Syracuse. The villa has a single floor of 107 meters of natural freshness and surrounded by a beautiful garden of 1200 m². Internally comprises: large kitchen-living room with all modern Equipment, 2 bedrooms with a king-size bed, a bunk bed, a cot for the little ones and 2 sofa beds. For a total of 8 beds. Each room has an exit directly to independent garden and terraces. Featured in each room, air conditioning, mosquito nets and comfortable furniture. The territory offers 2 lighted outdoor terraces with views of Mount Etna and the wonderful double Brucoli bay, a green lawn where children can play safely with games (slides, houses), parking for 3 cars or boat and outdoor shower. The center of Brucoli is 2 km far from the house, and offers all the amenities: restaurants and pizzerias with typical local dishes such as pasta with sea urchins. Here you can rent a boat in the famous yacht Jonio Yachting club to enjoy the scenery or do some dive directly into the transparent blue of this beautiful sea. On request we organize fishing tuna.
The story of Brucoli: It is a fishing village in the province of Syracuse. The village of Brucoli is situated about 5 km from Augusta with a channel That complements for much of the ITS length and is born as a fishing village. On the walls, along the Channel, there are Numerous caves, typical dwellings of the Neolithic age. West of the Channal opens a vast area, the '' Gisira '' WHERE IS OUR VILLA SITUATED, a large Gisira calcareous tableland slopes down towards the sea, where the extreme north lie the remains of a Neolithic village. In the midst of this landscape is the village with the glistening sea, the sky cobalt, the port-channel and drowed by age castle That the Sun of summer noon, with prodigious Alchemist's magic, Becomes a fantastic ancient Golden Manor. According to Thucydides recounts in His Peloponnesian War (VI .4), here came the first Greeks from Megara, led by the oikistes Lamis, who on the banks of the river Pantakyas founded a village, to Which he Gave the name of Tròtylon. From this first landing, and from there headed to Lentini expelled from Chalcis founded before Thapsos and Megara Hyblaea. On the plateau of Gisira there is an oasis of greenery, stands the sanctuary of the Madonna of Adonai, with the adjoining monastery, built on a natural Grotto, Already use Greek, on Whose back wall you can see a figure of the Madonna with child Which Jesus, according to Functional tradition, was painted in the 4th century by the Bishop of Lipari Agathon, Took refuge here to escape persecution. The river Porcaria, the ancient Pantakyas, before reaching the contrada 'Bay', Asilah, Arcila in a loop from the walls of the cavity presents high bronze age graves, all along the Ridge called Maccaudo Valley. In past centuries it Seems That the River was navigable for a long is inland, and was used for the transport of goods from the coast inland. Brucoli With Its port-channel was annexed in the fifteenth century into the House of Queens Aragoneses. The Governor John Cabastida, by order of Queen Giovanna, in 1467, he built the Castle guarding the warehouse and Emporium where she loaded cargo. Brucoli loader (I know they were called the ports from Which it departed and arrived goods) in Aragoneses age was very important for His work and was merged at the royal property. In a wing of the castle was used as a small church, the first in the country, and on the South-western tower were built two pillars like a bell. Always inside the castle there was a room used as a burial place. The 19th-century parish church with the ship, built on several occasions, is dedicated to Saint Nicholas, patron saint of mariners and patron of the country. According to a local tradition, sailors of a ship called in the middle of the storm and found refuge in Brucoli. As a sign of gratitude brought` the Church under construction the painting depicting St. Nicholas enthroned, today Became the altarpiece of the high altar. The Church Suffered severe damage as a result of the earthquake of December 13, 1990 Secured and re-opened on May 25, 1997 was restored and reopened for worship on December 18, 2005 Of great value is the 19th-century wooden statue of St. Nicholas, Which is preserved at the high altar, behind the picture depicting the Saint. For quantity of goods exported, Brucoli Often exceeded the port of Augusta. Today the port-channel, Porcaria, mouth is navigable for about one hundred meters from the mouth by small tonnage vessels since the bottom, over the years, Has Gone increasingly rising. With appropriate interventions could be cleared and dredged to make it cutting easier to pleasure boats or fishing. Deeper than a few dozen yards inside the channel, you can still see the bridge on the River, used by the old women of the town as a washtub. On the last Sunday of July there is the feast of the patron St. Nicholas. Every second year we celebrated with a long procession of boats on the sea. Offshore, the boat carrying the statue of the Patron Saint is thrown overboard a laurel wreath in memory of the fallen of the sea. On December 6, the day of the liturgical feast of Saint Nicholas, the Patron Saint is remembered with a solemn celebration. Every August 5, by several centuries, from the parish church Began to pilgrimage, crossing the river and follow the ancient road leading to the district Gisira, Reaches the sanctuary of the Madonna of Adonai, in Which mass is Celebrated. The Sunday That follows the March 19, in Piazza San Nicola is the characteristic 'Auction of Saint Joseph', in Which they sell the gifts That bring families to the patron saint of Providence, including a local pizza feature called 'Cudduruni'.
