Stayed at soho hotel for two nights was very excited to be in Auckland I was greeted kindly and I returned the same kindness back. There was some confusion with my details of checking in which was a slight change in the name nothing really changed just missing a hyphen the receptionist showed a rude appearance and brushed confusion and gave us a key and told us to take the elevator and our rooms on the second floor. Seeing our room I was impressed with the tidiness and cleanliness. Two single beds are twin beds. I went to the bathroom a hour in to checking in and realised the door wasn’t closing or not knowing how to keep the door closed. I rang the desk for help and in return the lady said she will get maintenance to resolve the situation we never heard a knock. One of my family members went down to collect more things from the car and went to the desk to see if the door could be resolved she was given a door stopper. 1 I was not impressed with a door stopper for the price we pay to stay. 2 the service from the reception desk that day was rude. 3 I approached the reception desk the desk morning with a gentleman on shift and he was very welcoming very helpful when I asked him about the hotel restaurant times.
For me I thought service could have been better towards the customer needs.

They seem to focus on bar and entrance. Peeling wallpaper, Sheetrock seams visible, construction quality sub par. Balcony overlooks metal roof. Hot tub is cedar barrel with steps and rail made of scrap lumber. Floor on balcony stained black with floor boards loose and warped. Restaurant and bar were good.
Exceptional staff and outstanding accommodation. Perfect location with motorway, supermarket and shopping nearby. Reception staff and bar tender were so lovely and welcoming… absolutely highly recommend this accommodation and will always opt for Soho in future… thankyou
Lovely clean hotel. Staff were very polite and helpful food in the restaurant we very nice and of generous portions. The only negative we found was the hot tub and balcony! We stayed in a spa room with a hot tub and balcony. Balcony was not very private and is overlooked by other rooms. The hot tub is not what we was expecting it was a very small wooden “tub” that was only for sitting up in so we could lie back and relax. If we seen the actual size of the tub when we were booking we probably wouldn’t have paid the extra price. Other than that the hotel was lovely and would stay again (but not in a spa room)
Hotel is brand new and modern, room looks great and bed is comfy. Poor noise isolation though so you hear everything happening on the road and even the hallway so I think best option is to ask for rooms not facing the road or freeway. Gym is amazing for a hotel gym, have everything you need. Staff was great but we didn’t benefit any VIP offers even after I asked.
But would definitely recommend, for travelers it has a 24/7 laundromat 3minute walking distance from the hotel.
Parking is very limited.
