A Stylish and Family Friendly Stay!

NYX Esperia Palace in Athens proved to be a wonderful choice for our first holiday with our 4-month-old daughter. Its central location made exploring the city easy, while the hotel itself felt both stylish and welcoming. The staff were incredibly kind and thoughtful, showing genuine care toward our baby, which really put us at ease as new parents. Family-friendly touches like baby cots and a children’s menu made a big difference. While the rooftop pool was a highlight, it's worth noting that sunbeds must be booked in advance and the pool area itself is not as spacious as the photos suggest. There is also a minimum spend of €25 per person—something to keep in mind as it can add up over time. We planned to use the pool most of the time before when we booked our holiday, but ended up using it twice given the availability of sunbeds and costs each time to use it. Overall, it was a memorable, and well-located stay and I would still recommend it to anyone visiting Athens.

We stayed at this hotel recently and while the location is excellent—within walking distance of major attractions—the overall experience was underwhelming. We were told the hotel was fully booked when we asked about a room upgrade, but later found upgraded rooms still available online. Only after raising this were any alternative perks offered, which left us feeling misled. Many amenities that appear included come at a steep cost. Pool seating requires a €25 per person fee, rooftop dining with a view starts at a €50–€70 minimum spend per person, and live shows are open to the public—meaning guests must compete for reservations. There’s also no comfortable lounge area for guests to relax at night unless you're paying to dine or sit. In short, the hotel looks great in photos, but most of the appealing features come at an added cost and don’t prioritize actual hotel guests. Overall, the stay felt more transactional than hospitable.

The hotel staff and room was fantastic. The rooftop restaurant had beautiful views of the Acropolis. We wish we had one more day to explore the city. The only downfall was that our room wasn’t available when we checked in after traveling through the night from the US.

Our room and bathroom were exceptionally well-equipped with modern amenities. The restaurant was equally fantastic, offering breathtaking views of the Parthenon. However, the comfort of our mattress, bedding, and pillows was compromised by the incessant noise emanating from the street and hallway. When the cleaning team starts their day so do you!

The hotel itself was fine however they had some very strict rules about taking beverages from the lounge or taking a cup of coffee from the breakfast area to your room. It would’ve been nice if we were able to enjoy our beverages in our room as well. We had a great view of the Acropolis from our room.
