Lucerne Chalet - Treetop Mountain Views In Downtown Asheville -FP, Dog Friendly!

Lucerne Chalet is one of our more spacious downtown Asheville chalets. It has two bedrooms, and one and a half bathrooms, and is conveniently located just FIVE minutes to eclectic downtown Asheville, the South Slope, the River Arts District, the Blue Ridge Parkway, New Belgium Brewery, the Biltmore Estate, and much more.

Nestled in the treetops, you can gaze at the mountains from the gated porch and stroll through the quiet neighborhood with your dog. Cozy up to the gas fireplace in the living room.​

NOTES
This property is 1.3 miles from the heart of downtown, but we would recommend transportation since it's not walker-friendly.

No grill at the house.

ALL mountain roads can be steep and dark at times. They may be daunting to an inexperienced mountain driver. The Lucerne Chalet is located in a quiet mountain subdivision on a circular one-lane road. Although it's a short road with street lights, it is tight, steep, and curvy. Please try to plan your arrival during the daytime if you are intimidated by mountain roads.

No smoking, vaping, or candles.

Must be at least 25 years old to reserve this property.

DOG RULES
A dog fee applies, plus all applicable taxes. Dog with prior approval. Dogs under 50 lbs. The size and breed of your dog are needed to register them. Please note that you are bringing your dog when making your reservation.

1. No puppies - Dog must be at least ONE YEAR OLD
2. No attack or aggressive breeds of dogs are allowed
3. Must have all shots and flea treatments that are up to date
4. Must always be on a leash and under the control of the owner
5. Must NOT sleep on beds, couches, or chairs

We really enjoyed our stay. It's a great get away and was just right for two old friends. I wasn't happy about the demand to have damage insurance before I could finish my purchase. I feel this should have been upfront before we chose. All written info we had stated the total price without the damage insurance they insisted on. If I knew this up front I would have felt better about this inaccuracy. I have never come across this in my world travels with Vrbo.My friend is very sensitive to noise so she took the back bed room. I was fine and generally loved the place, but the traffic from the valley below was loud but fine for sleeping- my window was open.As mentioned, this is a one lane both way road a bit daunting at first but you get used to it. Don't drive a new car up there it will be scratched. I loved the place but it's not for everyone. I'd recommend the owner do photos of all the turns to get in so you feel like you are getting to the right location. A difficult to find place in Norway did this with photos at each turn and it made the difference in getting there. It really is magic when you get there and settle in. Give it a chance

Great place! The proximity to downtown is hard to beat, and yet you still get a nature/forest feel while on the property. The home itself is a little tricky to find but otherwise we had an excellent experience. Clean and comfortable and would stay there again.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Lucerne Chalet. The location was perfect - peaceful and quiet with a gorgeous view of the sunrise through the treetops, yet just a quick 5 min drive or 20 min walk into town. The house was fully furnished and very clean. We enjoyed sitting out on the porch. We brought our 13 yo lab, and it was great to be able to take him out for walks in the area. Darlene gave great check-in instructions and was easily accessible for occasional questions. We would stay again!

The location and the house were perfect. Beds are super comfortable and we appreciated the good dishes, pots & pans, and the supply of TP and paper towels to get us started. We look forward to booking here next year for our annual Asheville trip. Also, the advice of arriving in the daytime to navigate the long, narrow, winding driveway is not to be taken lightly! ;)

This is one of our favorite places to stay when we come to Asheville. It is very private, feels like you are in a tree house yet it is right off Tunnel Road and the Freeway near downtown Asheville. An Ingles and Starbucks is just down the hill only 10 minutes away. Lyft had no trouble finding us even though we initially got lost when we first checked in. The house is only 20 minutes from Biltmore Estate.The house is immaculate. There are two nice sized bedrooms, with very firm mattresses. One bedroom has a small closet sized half bath with a sink and toilet. There is one full bathroom with a great shower.The kitchen is completely stocked. You can basically cook anything you want to as it has everything you could need for cooking a full meal. We didn't cook at all but it was nice that it is available.The layout is open concept, with a nice sized dining table and a great couch and smart TV.The host is a great communicator, when we texted her we always got a reply within minutes.

Really enjoyed the Chalet. Just a few minor issues . We drove our F 150 up there and it got scratched up a lot with all the low hanging branches. Hard to sleep on your orthopedic mattresses.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at our stay in Asheville. So convenient to downtown, Uber drivers super helpful and quick to get us where we needed to go. The facilities are wonderful. The home is spread out with ease of access to everything in the kitchen and anything we could’ve needed was there for us. So beautiful and peaceful in the evenings and mornings, gorgeous scenery!! The hosts Darlene and Ron are super amazing people and so responsive. And of course, downtown Asheville never disappoints with amazing shopping and food. Can’t wait to go back!

The chalet was in a great location for getting around Asheville! The road is a bit tricky the first time getting to the chalet, but once you know which turns to make, a piece of cake! Sitting out on the porch at night and in the morning was very relaxing and a great way to start and end the day!
