Amazing views and lovely place

We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of sunlight this place gets considering it's in Arthurs pass. Lovely place with a good heatpump. Dave was very responsive to questions we had about our stay.

A perfectly situated Kiwi Bach

Right in the village of Arthur's pass this lovely kiwi bach provided all I needed for a happy weekend break. It is not luxurious but it does not pretend to be. It is warm and the situation could hardly be beaten.

Comfy Bach an easy walk from just about everything

The bach was easy to find and clean and tidy on arrival. It had everything we needed for a comfortable couple of days in Arthur's Pass. We stayed over summer and had good weather. The bach get's good sun and was nice and warm. We loved the selection of reading materials, not that we had much time to read it as we were here to walk.My mum is 71 and she would have preferred an indoor toilet - the outdoor one her reminding her of her early years. (The toilet is attached to the house, but you have to go out the front door to get to it). However, this will definitely be my first choice for stops in Arthur's Pass going forward.

Good location and house for 1 night

Simple hut with what we needed for a 1 night stay in Arthur’s Pass. Beautiful views and the short distance to the road was not as noice as you would have thought. Great deck to sit on and either look back up at the mountains or down over the train station and the life around it. The beds aren’t good enough in our opinion. We all had a pretty rough sleep. The top bunk has the best mattress we think, maybe less usage. We tried to ask a question before arrival but it was never answered. We had been told that communication wouldn’t be possible over the period of our stay. If the beds were better then we would come back one day. No bags for the trash so bring that yourself :-)

Alpine trainspotters heaven

We enjoyed our stay in the Alpine Cottage. There were comfortable beds, a good shower and a kitchen with everything we needed. It was very convenient to Arthur's Pass Village, and the regular trains provided interest when we weren't out birdwatching or walking.

Mountain escape

We have been wanting to stay in an authentic NZ bach for a while, and this was it. No frills, but comfortable and everything you need for a couple of days tramping in the mountains - well equipped kitchen, good insulation and heating, comfy beds, a hot shower and just enough space to lay out gear and play cards in the evening. The bach has a lovely aspect, view and sun drenched front deck. There were 4 of us and we fitted comfortably. The walks in the village can be accessed from the bach without a vehicle. The coal trains are close by and quite frequent but the double glazed windows are effective to block most of the noise. Unless you are a very light sleeper, it shouldn't bother you. We highly recommend a stay.n don't.
