Cruck End (ref E3749) has retained the original cruck beams, whilst Swallow’s Nest (ref E3245) was formerly the waggon house. This area affords fell walking, bird watching, riding, cycling and fishing, whilst Appleby, just 2 miles away, host to the gypsy horse fair in June, offers golf, a swimming pool and bowls as well as shops, inns and eating places. Penrith, with cycle hire and the Rheged Centre, is 10 miles, Hadrian’s Wall an hour’s drive.
