Nice old Inn in Apalachicola

This is a quaint inn located in Apalachicola, Florida. Yes, it is as old as they say it is, 1907, which is a significant part of its charm. The room was spacious and clean; the bathroom was updated with tile and new fixtures. Some items you may want to know about the inn. There is no elevator; if you have a room on the third floor, it is a small, skinny staircase to go up. The staff did offer to bring up or bring down the luggage. The bar downstairs was fun. Happy Hour has $2 off cocktails. We did order the filet. I did not read the description, so it is my fault. The item we wanted to order was out due to the snowstorm earlier in the week. The filet was covered in a sauce, which took away from the flavor of the meat. In my opinion, of course, others may like it. Meet some wonderful people hanging out there. we would come back and do recomend the hotel.

We were in one of the new buildings and our room was too small. No night stand on one side of the bed and no fold out stand for the luggage. The room was way too small for a King bed. We prepaid the $40 for the breakfast but it was not worth it. Wife didn’t even eat her bananas foster French toast and we were told we were limited to only two cups of coffee. We ended up getting breakfast elsewhere on the drive home. Honestly, the stay was not worth the premium price we paid. The original hotel structurally leans to one side and all of doors are off center because of that. It was a forgettable stay.

The property is great but I was very uncomfortable sending an image of my drivers license on line prior to arrival. The front desk told me that I could have take care of it when I got there but the communication I received didn’t say anything about being optional. Traveled a lot and never was asked such a thing. Made me feel uncomfortable. Maybe include a highlighted statement saying that it can be done at time of check in.
