This hotel was much better than I expected. I was in town for a special event, the funeral of Charles Norman Shay, so I thought occupancy and rates would be very high. The price of the room was so low I thought the property would be kind of old and clapped out, but it’s actually very nice and recently renovated, and I stayed a second night. I didn’t use the restaurant, but from the menu and the décor it looks like an excellent choice for a high-end dinner. The bar is very cozy, with comfy leather chairs and pictures of celebrities on the walls. The staff was very pleasant too. You should probably reserve on-site parking if you need it. There is free 20 minute parking on the street outside with an automatic timer.

The room was really nice, very clean. The location and setting of the hotel is perfect. The staff were top notch and as others have mentioned the breakfast was great. I’ve already been recommending this hotel to friends back home who might come here. A great stay.

This historic hotel was a good option for our Normandy beaches trip. The room was not as advertised (much smaller than the photo), but fairly well appointed. The fan provided for air conditioning did not function, and the plugs in the room did not work after the first night. The staff was agreeable, but badly overworked, making them slow to assist because of so many duties. The breakfast buffet was open until 10:00 am, but was not refreshed after 8:30. The historic bar could have been lively, but there was no bartender when we stopped in after dinner at 7:00 pm. Overall, it was a “fair to good” stay.
