Paid , confirmed, no room, disaster!

I had booked and paid for my hotel room and received a confirmation. Yet when I landed in Anchorage and called for the hotel shuttle, I was informed that they had overbooked and they had no rooms. They offered me a room and a sister property which involves me waiting an additional hour for the shuttle on which I finally gave up and took a cab. When I arrived at the sister hotel, the front desk was completely flustered because their hotel room key card system was down and they were unable to issue working keys. Add info to injury. The website is still showing that they have rooms available..

The property was undergoing a complete interior renovation. During our stay, we heard/watched ceramic tile being removed from the main lobby and breakfast dining area. This hand removal covered the area, including the coffeemaker, ovens and toaster with a thick, toxic dust. The interiors (where food touches) of all of these items were never cleaned; only an exterior wipe-down occurred prior to service of breakfast. Our room was large, but empty. There were no drawers or place to store items not hung up. The only good part of the stay was their willingness to transport us into the city area for dining and shopping.

They're in the middle of remodeling and the people who are doing it leave the place a complete mess as well as their work seems shoddy. The hotel would be very nice if little details were attended to. Detailing makes a difference in first impressions. Somewhat noisy, but not horrible inside the hotel. Problem was the trains that ran all night blowing their horns. Nice view outside the window, but that's the side the trains are on. Despite this, the staff was friendly and helpful, our room was large and clean, breakfast was good but the dining area very tight and crowded, appreciate the 24 hour shuttle service.

I checked in and because I pre-paid I walked into the lobby was totally destroyed/under renovation. I said to myself ok hope they renovated the rooms first. I checked in and walked to my room and left the hotel and booked another place. Was nothing like the photos on Expedia. In the parking lot they had a dumpster with old dog crates and trash. There was at least 3 bombed out cars with flat tires in the one parking lot. I moved to the other parking lot to park and seen blue tape on the exterior door and security box. I would think this place could be nice once they clean it all up but right now I would give it only 1/2 star. It felt like it was used as a homeless hotel for the last year or more. I would definitely not recommend this place for some time and would never pre pay at this location ever again.

The construction going on was horrible all over. The exercise room was closed and the pool was not heated as advertised. It was ice cold. The breakfast area was horrible and the breakfast was not great. Rubbery eggs and the pancake machine was not even plugged in or batter made. Trash in the property.

This place is under construction/remodeling. All flooring in public areas is removed. The hallway to our room was cluttered with buckets, tools, construction debris. Vending machines inoperative. The room was clean but sparse. No chair, few plugins, shower pressure low, The view from our room was a homeless camp about 1/4 mile away. Went for coffee in morning and got 1 and half cups then pot was empty. They should not rent rooms during this time. Do not go to this place. Would not of stayed but too late to get a refund. This was a great disappointment.

When I stayed there, it was under construction/rehab the main cabin areas they were tearing out the tile floor and doing remailing The room I had had been redone, which was nice To get to the main downtown area was uphill so a bit of a walk There was a nice walking path along the creek The morning breakfast was good scrambled eggs and sausage with yogurt, but not what I was used to as just coming off from a cruise ship with lots of varieties

This hotel is undergoing renovations which makes it hard to rate. It is very close to major railway hub. I was awakened at 5:15 by train horns. There is a homeless camp visible from hotel which looked worse than the actual impact.
