One night stay

I had a one night stay at the Wingate by Wyndam. The front desk personnel processed my evening check-in efficiently and suggested a few options for nearby dining.My room was spacious and clean.I did have difficulty with the TV, no guide was provided, and and I never was able to access any programming other than one channel.There was no in-room coffee maker, but the hotel did offer complimentary breakfast which was popular with the guests. The Salmon Creek runs behind the hotel offering a nice walking path and access for salmon fishing/viewing.The hotel is located steps away from the Alaska Railways train depot, convenient for travelers arriving/departing from there.

The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was okay but some items ran out before we arrived and the breakfast area was not well-serviced. The hotel is showing its age with paint and cosmetic issues but is still very functional. I would recommend it as an economy hotel at a reasonable price point.

As a lifelong Alaskan, I had never seen the area down by Ship Creek! Staying made it a memorable night, being able to walk along the water with my pup and watch the fishermen! The area felt like its own little village. Rooms are huge! Breakfast was great, we felt safe, and staff was very kind and helpful (12pm late out for free! And helping me store my luggage for a bit while room was cleaned). I would gladly stay again and/or recommend to others:)

The location is excellent, right next to the train station, but the surrounding downtown area feels rundown and somewhat unsafe, especially after dark. While the hotel serves its purpose for a basic overnight stay, the rooms are extremely simple. The ceilings are low, and the furnishings are minimal—a single chair in the corner rather than proper seating or functional furniture. The overall décor and amenities are very basic. On the plus side, a full breakfast is included, though it’s modest in variety.

We checked in, went to our room, and immediately left. The neighborhood seems very dangerous, dirty, and we elect it to go to another location. I would not recommend.

Trash all over parking lot. Filthy entrance, run down lobby and broken down old shuttle bus in lot. Looks like a crack house. Terrible attempt at renovation. Paint on door handles and towel bars. Light switches that do not work. I will never stay in a Wyndham property again.

We returned to this property only because ofcthe breskfast, but it was completely terribke. We stayed 6 nights and always had to ask for clean towels. We had zero housekeeping for our entire stay. We We won't stay here in the future.

This place was one step above a dump. They did not vacuum our room the whole time we were there, neither did they service the room unless you asked a day in advance, I found that out on our third day, then when they did make the bed or bring towels that's ALL they did.It smells really bad, old and not cleaned properly. It has a decent continental breakfast and the location is good.But it is definitely not worth the price,

Friendly staff. Upon entering the room, could’ve been cleaned more. Found a bag of trash stuffed behind a chair and located a bug in the bathroom. Having to put your room on the list for cleaning the night before wasn’t ideal. Breakfast was not kept up with food with the number of people in the dining area.
