Cozy and convenient

Good and convenient location. The room was a bit smaller than anticipated. The shower sink and toilet were very very close together. The bed was comfy and the place was clean. Walls are thin so you can sometimes hear your neighbor and the people walking around upstairs. Check in/out was quick and easy. You also have the option to rent their bikes but require cash on you. As long as you don’t mind some sound at night and tight spaces this place is okay.

Stairs were steep but that wasn’t a problem. Rooms were tight which is expected but we had a fire alarm go off at 5am and nobody is on site overnight so the alarm didn’t get checked until 7am so all the guests just stood outside the entire time… No staff onsite made it difficult to call a cab since we don’t speak Dutch and if we needed anything, nobody was there. Also, we were on the 4th floor and when you open the window, there is 1 bar holding you in. You can easily slip under or fall over that bar and that’s not safe. Besides that, typical European room.

The photos of the room did not match reality. The room was furnished with beat up furniture. The walls had not been painted in many years. Trim was missing on the door frame. Old carpeting. Just generally not much care to the quality of the rooms here at all which is unfortunate because it is so expensive. The best thing about the hotel was the lift so that you don’t break your neck on the super steep staircase. The staff was nice enough and they offer a convenient breakfast. Would not recommend.

This is not a 3 star hotel 2 star would be generous. Longer walk from train station when raining. Noise from construction and loud banging sounds each morning from staff. Good for a night or two if saving money is key.

A sweet little hotel tucked right off easy access to many popular destinations. Beds were narrower than typical “American” twin sized, but plenty long. Small issues with key cards and wifi, but front desk staff were very helpful in sorting things out.

Similar to a hostel, but much more expensive!

So incredibly expensive for an incredibly poor service. We had so many issues, none where solved. The toilet was faulty, the air-con did not and nor did the wifi. They refused to provide us with any kind of refund and it transpired that they were aware of the issues before we complained and before we even arrived, but still took nearly €1000 of my money

The hotel is as advertised. Check-in and check-out staff were very friendly. Mini fridge, full bed (was worried based on the 2 separate blankets in the photo it might be two twins pushed together), good water pressure in the shower. Quiet. I especially loved my window - great light, trees/pretty apartments outside, opened a little bit for fresh air without letting rain in. I was a woman traveling alone and felt very safe in the neighborhood and in the building, even at night - I barely had to turn off the busy street to get into the building. Close to the Rijk Museum, a nice large park, bike rental, post office, restaurants, tram. Pretty much right across the street from the canals. I was a little wary because the photos online were posted by the hotel in 2018 and the price was low, but my room was pretty much in the same condition (maybe a few marks on walls, etc). Elevator was out of order while I was there, but they gave me advanced notice and offered free cancellation. Stairs very steep, but that was okay for me.

Good for a brief stay

Good location, small rooms, good for a 1-2 night stay, friendly and very helpful staff. Bad smell after we turned the AC on.
