Outstanding customer service. Comfortable and clean room. Good shower. Bed cosy. Great location. Fabulous area for the Northern Lights. Great choices for breakfast, including good healthy options for me.
Appreciation for Our Stay
My wife, son, and I would like to express our sincere appreciation for the wonderful experience we had during our stay from August 22 to August 23 in room 215. Having traveled extensively, I can confidently say that the hospitality and attention to detail at your hotel truly stand out.
I would like to commend a few exceptional team members. Ana at the concierge was incredibly helpful in recommending a fantastic local restaurant and provided impeccable service during breakfast on August 23.
The cleanliness and comfort of our room were also outstanding. We thoroughly enjoyed the breathtaking city view from our window as well as the meticulous care provided by the housekeeping staff.
Thank you for everything your team does to create such a welcoming environment. We look forward to staying again on our next visit to Akureyri.
Best regards,
Alfredo
The parking is paid parking between 10 am -4pm in front of the hotel. There were vegetarian and gluten-free options (great gluten-free bread) for breakfast. It was very easy to walk around and see the sites in Akureyri. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
The hotel was easy to find and we were luckily staying on a Friday night so the metered parking in front of the hotel was free. Lots of places nearby within walking distance to eat. Breakfast was very good with lots of choices. Room at the front was a little noisy from road noise. One of the bath towels had a hole the size of a baseball. Liked the provided shampoo and conditioner and heater in the bathroom. Tea kettle in the room.
The hotel is right at the heart of Akureyri, excellent location, walkable distance to almost all tourist spots in town. Just a bit noisy at night as pedestrians are on their way to bars and restaurants, and crazy sports car revving at night during our stay, which is extremely disturbing.
The hotel is rather old, well kept but it shows its age. Staffs are friendly, and lovely breakfast.

Excellent breakfast and nice room with excellent bath
We had a safety incident in this hotel. At 2 am a completely naked intruder opened our door and attempted to walk in. He could not fully open the door as I always wedge the door with a chair. The light from the hallway woke me up and I ran to the door yelling to him to stop him from coming in. I was able to stop him and secure the door. My husband, my 12 year old and I were very scared and called the police. The police came promptly but they could not find the intruder. The manager dismissed me by saying the records showed the door had not been opened since 10 pm. I was made to feel that I was exaggerated in my response, that I had probable left the door unsecured or that I was dreaming/confused and the guy probably was partying and got confused or was sleep walking. She made up so many excuses. She kept insisting that Iceland was totally safe. We are not sure how the intruder opened the electronic door. (Also, the door did not have in inside bolt or a fish eye.) The management did not have any compassion for our situation. They were more interested in defending themselves and excusing the intruder as a prank or a "confusion".I have remained anxious and have not been able to sleep well since this incident. Iceland might be a very safe country but there are bad people anywhere.
Exceptional service from the gentleman at the front desk. He was so helpful in every way. Nice room and good variety of breakfast options. Good location for walking in the city.
A great, friendly and genuine welcome. Efficient check in. Very comfortable and good size room and great location in the city centre. Parking available directly outside. Substantial, tasty and varied breakfast.
Very cute hotel, good location. Breakfast was great - lots of options. Very easy walk into main city centre to shop and dine. We came on a sunday, so just parked in front of hotel because it was free. Staff very nice - got an upgraded room with more space which was great.
The room was super small. The carpet was well worn and dirty. I requested 2 beds but there was no room to open our suitcases. We opened them on the floor and then closed them to sleep. The hotel is just an older space and the rooms are set up yo accommodate as many people as possible.
