Leaving our cars at home, and electing to travel on The Overland from Melbourne, five seniors delighted in our Adelaide accommodation at Caltowie, Goodwood, for five days (and six nights), exploring Adelaide on our bikes. Equipped with a generous Seniors Visitor 14-day Travel metroCARD to utilise primarily on the train lines, in idyllic weather conditions, Caltowie, a little over 1km from both Goodwood and Showgrounds Railway Stations, (and a mere 12 minute ride to Parklands Terminal) was the perfect spring-board, for five wonderful days on our bikes soaking in this Australian gemThe Parklands Trail, The Coast Park Path, The Barossa, Mclaren Vale, Adelaide Port, the Art Gallery, Botanic Gardens, wineries, cafés et al. It was indeed, a well-equipped ‘home, away from home’ with every comfort anticipated, with comfortable beds, ensuring a good night’s sleep. With our full itinerary, the television was never turned on opting to enjoy the outdoor setting along with the barbecue, kitchen and dining room facilities.Kudos to Janelle, our hostess who quickly responded to all communications.
