The Ibis is well-situated if you need to catch a bus or train from the Union Square area, or if you’d like to go shopping at Union Square or Bon Accord; it’s also within walking distance to the University of Aberdeen. The Maritime Museum is literally across the street, as is bowling, pool, and a movie theatre if you have time! Staff were friendly upon check in and out, and were more than willing to help with printing off a last minute copy of a conference paper I needed. Breakfast was good as well; I would definitely stay here again.

Really nice greeting at reception by one member of the reception. Served me my food, polite about serving me my drink even though checking others in. My first impression of the hotel and staff was therefore very positive. I was totally let down by the second receptionist who took over and was rude dismissive because he was checking in a customer. I was prepared to wait for him too be done but the attractive female new arrival seemed to deprive him of his manners.

The hotel doesn’t offer its own parking. They provided £2 off for parking at the nearest parkade. However, parking here is really riaky as the bays are narrow and even a small vehicle could scratch gping through it. I have seen others struggling and scartching their vehicles.It is rather very stressful.

OK hotel for the price

Hotel was behind the times as no USB connections of any type were availble int he rooms or the common areas. It appears euro hotels dont also offer in room mini fridges for guests. They were quite enviro friendly but were missing out on some today's essentilals .

Every hotel operator ought to be required to visit the Aberdeen Ibis to see how it's done. The rooms are stylish yet comfortable and useful. There are shelves and places to open your bags. The bathroom? Looks small but somehow you don't feel cramped. The shower is built in, roomy and doesn't leak onto the floor. I also must compliment the staff who were friendly and held our bags both at the beginning and end of our one night stay. With so much to see and do in Aberdeen, I wish we had spent more time in town.
