Flying with Qantas

Qantas Domestic Airlines are operated from Sydney and provide flights to destinations all over Australia. The major routes include services between Melbourne, Brisbane Adelaide, Perth, Cairns and Canberra. Qantas also owns the company Jetstar which is a low cost airline servicing both domestic and international destinations.

Qantas consists of 2 domestic passenger services including QantasLink and CityFlyer. The QantasLink branch provides flights to and from regional Australian cities with connections to ongoing domestic and international flights. Qantas CityFlyer services frequent flights between major Australian cities providing breakfast & evening meals, complementary morning newspapers and alcoholic drinks on flights after 4pm. Qantas also gives SMS regular updates on flight delays.

Qantas Ticket Classes
Passengers travelling on Qantas can choose between domestic economy class and business class. The baggage allowance for all Qantas domestic flights is two 105 cm bags, or one 105cm bag plus one 185cm bag. The maximum weight for a piece of luggage is 7kg per piece. If you have purchased an e-ticket you can now check into your Qantas flight through the touch screen kiosks in domestic. This service speeds up check in times and lets you choose your seating.

Qantas Frequent Flyer Club
The Qantas Frequent Flyer program gives passengers the opportunity to earn points each time they fly. These points can be redeemed for discounts on future flights or on selected accommodation and car hire services. Qantas frequent flyer points can also be redeemed by other family members.

Qantas Club membership caters to frequent business travellers and can be gained through paid membership or invite through the Qantas Frequent Flyer program. Members are given access to Qantas lounges throughout Australia when travelling on Qantas Airlines or Jetstar (a subsidiary of Qantas). Members are also allowed to invite one guest with them into the lounge. Facilities include a business lounge with internet access and workstations, showers, televisions, free local phone calls and a complementary bar which is open each day from early afternoon. Flyers can also choose to join the Platinum Qantas Club which gives access to Qantas lounges any time of the day whether you are flying or not.

Qantas Quality Service
Qantas domestic flight entertainment includes business reports, news updates, in-flight movies on longer flights and the choice of 10 radio stations which include music, talk programs & business stations. In-flight entertainment is not provided on QantasLink services.

In-flight cuisine is complimentary on Qantas Airlines and includes a selection of baked items, the choice of 2 hot meals on flights over 90mins, and assorted lunchtime sandwiches, salads and hot lunches on flights over 150 mins. Meals also include gourmet biscuits, fresh fruit, bottled water, refreshments and complimentary beer and wine on CityFlyer flights.
