Always on the hunt for that next big, fat adventure? The wider Bulgaria region has some brilliant things to see and do as well. Nature lovers should plan an outing to some of Shabla's stunning rural landscapes, beaches, wetlands and mountains. A few other gotta-sees to whack on your list hit are ruins and old towns. Alternatively, have a go at popular regional pursuits like snowboarding and skiing.

It's well known that Aussies just love to have a good time, so consider hanging round a little longer and going to the Jupiter Beach and Comarova Forest in Două Mai, 30 kilometres to the north of Shabla. If you'd like to spend a few nights in Două Mai, consider the Corsa Hotel and Hotel Cleopatra. Or, you could stay in 2 Mai, 30 kilometres to the north of Shabla, where you can choose from the Hotel Saturn and Balada. Neptune Orthodox Church and the Callatis Archaeological Museum are popular sites to explore when you're in 2 Mai.

Go 60 kilometres southwest and you'll be in Varna, a regional centre with a population of 310,000. While you're checking out this neck of the woods, whip out your camera and get your tourist on at Sea Garden, Varna Aquarium and the Varna Archaelogical Museum. Dormition of theotokos Cathedral and Dolphinarium are a couple more sights that are sure to offer up some envy-inducing photo ops. There is a good number of hotels and lodgings in Varna, with the Dallas Residence and Graffit Gallery Hotel coming in at the top of the list.
