Consistently crowned one of the best islands in the world, Boracay Island is no doubt the star of the
Philippines – and considering the nation has over 7000 islands, that’s no small feat! Floating off the north-western tip of Panay, this island paradise is all about soaking up the glorious sun and lazing by the seashore on the kind of tropical, palm-fringed beaches you usually only see splashed across the front of brochures. Sound like a dream holiday to you? Bring it to life with one of our fab Boracay Island hotels or resorts below!
Now picture this: your toes sinking into soft, powdery white sand as you wander down to the blue-tinged, crystal-clear waters. This is exactly what you’ll get at White Beach, the most popular beach on the island. Its popularity means it can actually get quite crowded at times and is very touristy, but it’s definitely a must-see because it’s ridiculously beautiful. There are also plenty of shops here – and wandering vendors – so you can always pick up some new sunnies or jewellery, or take a lastminute boat trip out onto the gorgeous waters for views back over the beach. For more peace and quiet, Diniwid Beach is just north of here, or go even further to the stunning and quiet Punta Beach. The east side of the island is best for snorkelling, where you’ll love Puka Beach for its long stretch of quiet seaside spots, and Bulabog Beach, for its great windsurfing potential (and eye candy!). But wherever you go, you’ll notice people referring to the different areas as
Station 1 (the high-end part of town),
Station 2 (mid-end, with more partying and shopping), and
Station 3 (most budget-friendly), which should help guide you around the island.
Away from all that chillaxing, you can explore Boracay’s largest village, Manoc-Manoc, which also has a great beach (you can’t escape the beaches here!). From the shores of Manoc-Manoc, you get fab views of Caticlan Island – where you’ll arrive into – so it’s a great spot to catch sunset. Diving is also popular here, as there is stacks of marine life and coral reefs. Because Boracay Island is so small – just nine kilometres long and one kilometre wide – depending on where you book your accommodation, you may even be able to walk here! If not, it’s super easy to hire a bicycle or motorcycle and cruise the roads to suss out more of the island. Wherever you go, watersports, delicious food and luxurious massages aren’t hard to come by. And for some new beach outfits, check out White Beach or the central market, also called Talipapa.
Boracay is a true island paradise in the Philippines, complete with the friendly and warm Filipino attitude. Floating east of
Vietnam and South of
Taiwan, the ridiculously gorgeous waters and fab beaches here will give you bragging rights for at least a few weeks once you get back home! Come soak up the sun, sand and island vibes with our range of Boracay Island accommodation. It’s just an hour’s flight from
Manila, and we’ve got the
cheap flights to Manila to get you there!
