    • A night at a fine dining restaurant (22%)
    • When my partner surprises me (16%)
    • A sunset picnic (14%)
    • Going to see a band (9%)

lastminute.com.au spokesperson Louise Ryan says a night in a five-star hotel is the ultimate recipe for romance for couples looking to escape and spoil themselves a little.

“We know people love the idea of taking an inner city staycation, with lastminute.com.au data* showing 40% of Australians have booked a staycation in their own city.

“With Valentine’s Day on a Saturday this year, a staycation in a 5-star hotel is the perfect opportunity to embrace the romance and treat your special someone.

“From in-room movies and late night room service, to chilling by the pool, enjoying a lazy sleep-in, and of course the indulgent hotel breakfast, hotel stays are the perfect way to ‘escape’ without even having to leave your own city.

“It’s not just a date night, it’s an opportunity to relax and enjoy each others’ company away from the every day demands”.
