It delivered in spades.<br \/>\nWe stayed on the Champagne Coast in a wonderful B&amp;B called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lastminute.com.au\/accommodation\/vanuatu\/barrier-beach-house\/W199897?search=Barrier%20Beach%20House%20%28Luganville%2C%20Vanuatu%29&amp;url=?cid=lmau_blog_post\">Barrier Beach House<\/a>. The property has luxurious fares with traditional Natangura Leaf Roofs (which even make rain sound nice), and is located right on the beach. And to top it off, the local people are friendly, warm and welcoming. And they don\u2019t want to sell you anything!<br \/>\n<strong>Aside from relaxing, we found lots to do. My tips:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Drive the Champagne Coast<\/strong> stopping at:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jackie\u2019s Blue Hole &#8211; amazing sapphire-blue water and a super fun rope swing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Champagne beach &#8211; the dollar for the chief is well worth it. Snorkeling right off the beach reveals corals and fish you would usually travel by boat to see. Float down the Sarakata River<\/strong> &#8211; After being taken to the top of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oysterisland.com\/activities.html?cid=lmau_blog_post\">Mount Hope<\/a> we literally jumped into the river and floated down in a life vest. This tour was surprisingly awesome. The water is so beautiful and fresh and we weren&#8217;t expecting it to be so much fun.<br \/>\n<strong>3. Get more island time<\/strong> &#8211; We hired the punt from Barrier Beach House to visit Ice Island. Armed with a picnic Shen had prepared, we were the only people there all day. Try Kava<\/strong>&#8211; I\u2019ve heard it described as dirty dishwater, but I thought it was more like dirty cucumber juice. If you get past the taste there is a relaxing buzz on the other side. Go diving<\/strong> \u2013 If you love to dive you\u2019ll love Vanuatu. The Million Dollar Point is considered by some as the best wreck dive in the world, where you can explore the inner workings of SS Predisent Coolage, which now sits on the floor of Santo Harbor.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_9313\" style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"\/\/www.lastminute.com.au\/vc\/blog\/consider-vanuatu-for-your-next-island-holiday\/sunsetswims\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-9313\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-9313\" class=\"wp-image-9313 size-full\" title=\"SunsetSwims\" src=\"https:\/\/images.trvl-media.com\/media\/content\/expaus\/images\/last-minute\/blog\/uploads\/2012\/05\/SunsetSwims-e1335921222305.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-9313\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sunset swims<\/p><\/div>\n<p>After six days in our bubble, we were nervous to depart for the second stage of our trip, but the anxiety was eased by the fact that we knew we would be back.<br \/>\n<strong>Facts:<\/strong><br \/>\nAir Vanuatu flies direct to Espiritu Santos from Brisbane on Tuesdays and back on Sundays.
