Scandals, Muppets and Georgelina: it’s Oscars time! Chantal runs us through her picks for the winners and losers for Monday\u2019s Academy Awards. <\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

Time to get out the gold lam\u00e9 and sequins everyone. Yes, it\u2019s that time of the year again \u2014 The Oscars are back.<\/p>\n

On 26 February The 84th Academy Awards will take place at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, and the celebrities will be out in full force on the red carpet.<\/p>\n

The women\u2019s mags will be filled to the brim with headlines like \u2018Frocks that Shock\u2019 and \u2018Frocks that Rock\u2019, while the rumour mill will be overflowing with tales of Hollywood\u2019s elite getting down and dirty at the after parties\u2014well, at least, we can hope so.<\/p>\n

Because, let\u2019s face it, there\u2019s nothing quite like a bit of real Hollywood drama to put us at the edge of our seat better than any of the flicks to hit the silver screen over the last 12 months.<\/p>\n

Sexy Celebrity Scandals:<\/strong><\/p>\n

So, in true Oscar\u2019s style, here are my top predictions for celebrity scandals in the aftermath of the Academy Awards:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Forget \u2018Brangelina\u2019<\/strong> \u2013 Is it over for Hollywood\u2019s Golden Couple? \u2018Georgelina\u2019 The pressure gets too much for celebrity besties Brad Pitt and George Clooney who have a huge fall out after Angelina slams Mr Clooney for taking the top award from her man.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Frogs Go Wild<\/strong> \u2013 Our favourite celebrity muppet, Kermit the Frog, will get into some hot water \u2014 literally, after Miss Piggy discovers he\u2019s been lounging on the lily pads at Hugh Hefner\u2019s annual after party at the Playboy Mansion.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Charlie Sheen<\/strong> \u2013 If Charlie Sheen turns up, it\u2019s always a scandal #winning.<\/p>\n

Winners are Grinners!\u00b9”<\/p><\/div>\n

Presentations, performances and Perez Hilton:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gossip aside, this year\u2019s Oscar\u2019s are tipped to be a pretty entertaining night if the anticipated celebrity presenters are anything to go by.<\/p>\n

Celebrity gossip drama queen Perez Hilton has started his own online petition to get The Muppets to perform \u2018Man or Muppet\u2019. I can\u2019t help but wonder what Miss Piggy will be wearing on the red carpet though.<\/p>\n

My standout favourite film of the year would have to be \u2018Bridesmaids\u2019 so I\u2019m hoping for another knockout performance from the ladies during the evening.<\/p>\n

Anything involving spontaneous diarrhoea would put an interesting edge to the presentations.<\/p>\n

Winners, grinners and spinners:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Alright, so after all this glitz, glamour and gossip there has to a point to all this, right? Here are my standout predictions for the evening:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Actor in a Leading Role:<\/strong> It might destroy their friendship, but Mr Clooney will steal the spotlight from his buddy Brad by taking out the Oscar for his mesmerising performance in \u2018The Descendents\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Actress in a Leading Role:<\/strong> Controversially, Miss Piggy was NOT nominated, which I think is a total sham in itself. However, in the spirit of the evening I\u2019m putting my money on Michelle Williams for her portrayal as Marilyn Monroe in \u2018My Week With Marilyn\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Actress in a Supporting Role:<\/strong> Call me lowbrow, but anyone who takes a dump in a bathroom sink on film deserves top recognition. Which is why I cannot go past Melissa McCarthy for her hilarious performance as wacky sister-in-law Megan in \u2018Bridesmaids\u2019.<\/p>\n

Will Michelle take home the award for her portrayal of the blonde bombshell?\u00b3”<\/p><\/div>\n

\u2022 Music (Original Song)<\/strong>: \u2018Man or Muppet\u2019 by Bret McKenzie.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Writing (Adapted Screenplay)<\/strong>: The Descendents by Alexander Payne, Nat Faxon and Jim Rash.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Writing (Original Screenplay)<\/strong>: Bridesmaids by Annie Mumolo and Kristen Wiig<\/p>\n
