Is there anywhere you\u2019d rather be than sipping cocktails on a tropical island? No waaaaaay! And the best bit about these islands is there\u2019s no passport needed. Woo! Settle into your beach chair, pop on your sunnies and soak up these 10 Aussie islands that are absolute paradise.<\/p>\n

1. Rottnest Island, WA<\/a><\/h2>\n

Quokkas! These cuties ALONE are worth a trip to Rottnest Island<\/a>\u00a0but it\u2019s also worth taking a tour of the island on bike or going snorkelling\u00a0over the stunning reef.<\/p>\n\"\"\n

2. Cocos (Keeling) Islands, WA<\/a><\/h2>\n

This is the furthest of the more than 8,000 islands in Oz – the Cocos (Keeling) Islands<\/a> are almost 3,000km north-west of Perth! \ud83d\ude31 They also feel dreamily movie-like, with their chalk-white beaches, sparkling blue water and towering palm trees. We could get used to sipping cocktails here.<\/p>\n

3. Bruny Island, TAS<\/a><\/h2>\n

Tassie has so many beautiful islands but for something a little more cosy you can\u2019t go past Bruny<\/a>. Get back to nature with a trip to the \u2018Breathing Rock\u2019 and sample the amazing local produce \u2013 our tip is to go straight for the local oysters, they\u2019re perfect for sharing… not that you’ll want to! \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n\"\"\n

4. Granite Island, SA<\/a><\/h2>\n

Drive a few hours south-east of Adelaide and take a horse-drawn tram to Granite Island. Seriously! The Island features the Granite Island Recreation Park where you\u2019ll come across the towering orange-tinged granite rocks.\u00a0Our tip: Visit during June and October for whale-watching season.<\/p>\n

5. Green Island, QLD<\/a><\/h2>\n

Looking for new travel buddies? Then head out to Green Island<\/a> to meet Cassius. Okay, he might be the world\u2019s largest captive crocodile, so you don’t want to get too close, but he\u2019s still worth a look. The snorkelling is also insane in the area, and\u00a0a glass-bottom boat tour is worth the splurge.<\/p>\n\"\"\n

6. Lord Howe Island, NSW<\/a><\/h2>\n

There\u2019s nothing like a day on Lord Howe Island<\/a>. A protected paradise, there\u2019s only ever 400 visitors allowed on the island at one time, perfect for a low-key relaxing getaway. Snorkel, cycle and take loads of snaps while you\u2019re there.<\/p>\n

7. Tiwi Islands, NT<\/a><\/h2>\n

This has GOT to be one of the happiest places on earth. After all, the Tiwi Islands have been nicknamed the \u2018Islands of Smiles\u2019. The two main islands, Bathurst and Melville, are both around 80km north of Darwin. Take a guided walking tour <\/a>and be immersed in the local culture, or channel your inner artiste with a screen printing workshop.<\/p>\n\"\"\n

8. Moreton Island, QLD<\/a><\/h2>\n

This laid-back beach haven is ideal for adventure junkies. You can snorkel around sunken ships, sail down sand dunes on a toboggan and\u00a0hike up to Mount Tempest Lookout (a must!). Don\u2019t forget, there\u2019s also the chance to hand-feed wild dolphins and meet a real-life Flipper.<\/p>\n

9. Magnetic Island, QLD<\/a><\/h2>\n

A truly Aussie experience, take a half-hour ferry from Townsville to the majestic Magnetic Island<\/a>. Part of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, Magnetic is also known for its rocky crags and beachside boulders. One of the highlights on this island is getting up-close and personal with our eucalyptus-loving pals at the Bungalow Bay Koala Village<\/a>. You can even have brunch with them. Beats smashed avo any day of the week! \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n\"\"\n

10. French Island, VIC<\/a><\/h2>\n

Get off grid to this remote island just 60km south-east of Melbourne. You can swing by via a short ferry trip from either the Mornington Peninsula or Philip Island. French Island boasts remote serenity and beautiful walking tours, but the real reason this place made the top 10 is because of its wine and cheese. The climate and soil makes the wine particularly special – we\u2019d suggest sampling the Pinot Noir. Cheeeers!<\/p>\n
