I\u2019ve just seen what\u2019s out the window: a spiky mountain range, draped in thick white stretches into the distance.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\"Fairbanks<\/a>\n

Beyond, signs of life come into view \u2013 grey buildings, skinny streetlights, bare trees. \u00a0Everything is black or white \u2013 an ice desert, dormant for the cold months.\u00a0Winter in Fairbanks<\/a>– Alaska<\/a>\u2019s second\u00a0biggest city is waiting for us.<\/p>\n
