Maybe it\u2019s the location in a pretty remote area of northwestern Western Australia, or the drop dead gorgeous coastline \u2013 but there\u2019s something about Broome that has an \u201coverseas holiday\u201d feel to it.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Here are some of my favourite things about Broome<\/a>.<\/p>\n\"Broome\n

I would never tire of those fabled Broome<\/a> sunsets. \u00a0They rival the most memorable sunsets I\u2019ve experienced in Santorini<\/a>, Honolulu<\/a>\u00a0and the Sahara Desert.\u00a0 Watching the enormous bright red ball drop ever so delicately into the ocean in this part of the world is truly mesmerizing.<\/p>\n\"Broome\n

One of the best spots to watch the sunset \u201cglow\u201d is at the Sunset Bar at Cable Beach resort<\/a> where you can grab yourself a nice bottle of Western Australian wine and a bucket of prawns and make it an all-round Aussie experience.<\/p>\n\"Riding\n

A train of camels on the beach with a magnificent sunset framing the picture is one of the iconic images associated with Broome. \u00a0There is something pretty fabulous about literally putting yourself in that picture \u2013 and this is a Broome<\/a> must-do.\u00a0 You\u2019ll certainly discover why this is regarded as one of the most photogenic spots in Australia.<\/p>\n\"cable\n

You\u2019ll be in holiday mode the moment you arrive at Cable Beach Resort.<\/a>\u00a0The complimentary sparkling wine upon check in certainly helps. The rooms are surprisingly spacious and the recently renovated studio rooms provide a really modern, minimalist, light and airy atmosphere.<\/p>\n

The other things I loved about the resort are the luxurious L\u2019Occitane in-room amenities, the complimentary morning yoga classes and the sensational breakfast buffet (with big-city quality espresso).<\/p>\n

And of course, the 22 kilometre stretch of famous Cable Beach<\/a>\u00a0is literally steps from your room.\u00a0 It seems much wider than most beaches and it\u2019s perfect for an early morning or late afternoon beach stroll.\u00a0 Locals swim in the ocean here all year round but visitors are advised that a dip in the ocean is only recommended between April\u2013October, when you\u2019re safe from stingers.<\/p>\n\"Chahoya\n

The legendary French skincare brand L\u2019Occitane took over the Chahoya Spa at Cable Beach Resort in 2013.\u00a0 The Spa is uber modern, slick and stylish with a spectacular collection of stunning Sidney Nolan artwork lining the walls.<\/p>\n

Mad if you don\u2019t try the signature \u201cDreamtime\u201d treatment.\u00a0 The key ingredient is the locally grown and sourced Kakadu Plum (or \u201cGubinge\u201d as it\u2019s known around here) which is full of vitamin C and antioxidants with amazing anti-inflammatory properties. \u00a0Combining the Kakadu Plum with a selection of decadent L\u2019Occitane body products, the therapist rubs, scrubs and polishes every inch of your body for two heavenly hours.<\/p>\n

I can\u2019t decide which I enjoyed most \u2026 the foot bath, the body scrub, the body wrap, the head massage, the outdoor shower, the hair mask or the full body massage? \u00a0 I\u2019m still dreaming about my dreamtime at Chahoya.<\/p>\n

Broome was originally founded on a thriving pearling industry and it\u2019s a heritage they\u2019re understandably really proud of.<\/p>\n\"Large\n

This means there are plenty of shops in town selling a-grade quality pearls at great prices.\u00a0 One of the world\u2019s biggest pearls is on display at the Cygnet Bay store in town.\u00a0 Valued at well over a million dollars (although it\u2019s not for sale), this is considered to be the roundest and best quality pearl in the world.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s my tip ladies.\u00a0 Broome is actually a great alternative to the traditional girls getaway trips to Sydney, Melbourne or the Gold Coast. \u00a0It\u2019s an ideal escape for a three day weekend.\u00a0 And with (seasonal) direct flights available from Sydney <\/a>, Brisbane<\/a>\u00a0and Melbourne \u00a0<\/a>, you can now feel the sand from iconic Cable Beach<\/a> between your toes in just over four hours!<\/p>\n\"Broome\n
