\nAdelaide\u2019s Treasury on King William<\/a> Street, in the heart of the city may seem like a hidden treasure, because visiting makes you feel like one of the select few that get to experience this delight. It is, however,\u00a0by no means unknown.Treasury has won countless awards including the South Australian Catering award for excellence in Restaurants and Dining in 2009 and 2010 and placed in the finals for Best Bistro for the last eight years running. We had been tearing our hair out with Christmas preparations and had just finished moving house so decided to test out our local treasure for a relaxed dining celebration.<\/p>\n

Treasury is very popular with the after-five office crowd with its central location, great atmosphere and good food offered in the bar and courtyard area.\u00a0 Dining on a week night just before the Christmas weekend, the courtyard was a low happy bustling through the restaurant windows, adding to the feeling that in here we were special.
\nThe interior is pure elegance and a world away from the city traffic and public transport (literally just outside the front door). Light plays off glasses on the pre-set tables and illuminates the intimate space with a serene aura that opens its arms in welcome.<\/p>\n

With entrees up to $15 and mains around $30 to $35, you could be forgiven for thinking this is just another pub, who have up-scaled traditional pub-grub and added a bit to the price tag.\u00a0 You would be wrong. The meals here are a total culinary delight and as mouth-watering as they are breathtaking to view.
\nFor entrees we chose cured duck breast and prawns. The pairings of flavours in every dish we had complemented each other perfectly. The presentation was flawless and the meals cooked exactly as they should be. Mains were pork belly with pork loin and a fennel salad and lamb loin which melted on eating.<\/p>\n

I had no room for dessert but my husband tried a fantastic blood orange and mango concoction that looked almost too good to eat. Our meals were accompanied by a bottle of crisp light Yalumba Y Series 2011 Sav Blanc, a great addition to our meals and the heat of summer.<\/p>\n

The service was friendly, attentive yet unobtrusive. Both during and after dinner I commented on the fact that this review was going to sound a little gushy… It does doesn\u2019t it? I was totally blown away by the calibre of dining experience Treasury offers for the teeny price tag (relative to some other fine dining options) and cannot find enough words to express how incredible we found this restaurant to be.<\/p>\n

If you live interstate, I would fly over just for dinner; if you work in the city you should make an excuse to eat here as often as you can; if you have a reason to celebrate you should do it here.\u00a0 If you have yet to dine at Treasury on King William, I would ring them right now to make a booking.<\/p>\n\"Treasury<\/a>\n
