Mr. LML and I are travelling to San Francisco<\/a> with Air New Zealand and I have been upgraded to Business Class. Sadly, Mr. LML didn\u2019t make the cut, but he has very graciously allowed me to take one for the team and sit up front.<\/p>\n

My experience begins with a glass of Mumm champagne, which I get to sip while the Economy Class passengers walk past and navigate their way to their seats (and I imitate the Queen with an obnoxious wave).<\/p>\n

After I get acquainted with my seat and surrounds, I notice the complimentary toiletries that are perched on my footrest. The toothbrush, moisturiser, socks, and eye mask will definitely help me enjoy a comfortable, restful trip.<\/p>\n

After we take off a steward asks what I would like to order as a pre-dinner drink. I request red wine and he brings me a glass of delicious Waipara pinot noir (which remains full all night) accompanied by a plate of nuts and olives to nibble on while I watch my in-flight movie, Hitchcock<\/em>.<\/p>\n

When dinner arrives, the stewardess pops out my table and covers it with a white tablecloth. Ooh-la-la! My three-course Signature Chef meal consists of an entr\u00e9e of prosciutto, mozzarella, and figs with balsamic vinegar and olive oil, a main of roast chicken with chorizo mashed potatoes, and a cheese plate to finish up. I wash it all down with more pinot, because why not?<\/p>\n

After the movie I watch Orange is the New Black<\/em> and finish the episode with a cup of tea and after-dinner mint before laying out my flat bed for the night (just when I thought Business Class couldn\u2019t get any better!). The bed is completely flat and comes with a mattress, blanket, and two pillows \u2013 and, of course, it\u2019s super comfy. With my eye mask on I don\u2019t even notice that we\u2019re on a plane.<\/p>\n

After a great sleep and a quick freshen up, our breakfast is served. We\u2018re given quite a few options, of which I choose corn fritters with bacon and avocado and a cup of black tea. It\u2019s as if I\u2019m in a caf\u00e9.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve actually forgotten that we\u2019re in the air when an announcement over the speakers tells us to prepare for landing. My disappointment is obvious; it\u2019s the first time I\u2019ve flown Business and I could definitely get used to it. For the exceptional service, restaurant-quality meals, great wine (with a wine menu to peruse!), in-flight entertainment, and a comfortable, flat bed, I think I might just need to fly Business from now on.<\/p>\n
