We\u2019re in luck, as we drive in, owner John Vosper opens the door and greets us with a hearty welcome.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" lang=\"en\"><p>&lt;3 it! Their warm, welcoming nature makes us feel at home from the moment we step through the door. This is the main reason Mr LML and I very much prefer to stay at boutique <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lastminute.com.au\/hotel\/australia\/bed-and-breakfast?cid=social=blog:lmau:retail::SM41:\">B&amp;B style accommodation<\/a> when travelling. We relish the opportunity to get to know the people behind the guest experience. We delight in the personal touches passionate hosts, like the Vospers, pride themselves on; every touch is noticed and each one combines to make for a memorable stay.<\/p>\n<p>Kathy and John have the ability to do just that, their canvas being Edgelinks\u2019 five individually styled rooms. If you have little ones, I recommend organising a babysitter and leaving them at home as each room is set up perfectly for a romantic escape. We\u2019re lucky to call \u201cLunetta\u201d our own for two nights. Elegantly decorated in silver and charcoal complete with ornate cornices and a large chandelier, it\u2019s clear on first glance that the Vospers have exquisite taste. Having seen <a href=\"http:\/\/www.duxburys.com.au\/\">John\u2019s floral creations<\/a>, yes, not only a B&amp;B owner but a successful florist on the side, I\u2019m not surprised that our room is as gorgeous as it is.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_32892\" style=\"width: 710px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"\/\/www.lastminute.com.au\/vc\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/Edgelinks-BnB-rooms.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-32892\" class=\"wp-image-32892 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/images.trvl-media.com\/media\/content\/expaus\/images\/last-minute\/blog\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Edgelinks-BnB-rooms.jpg\" alt=\" \" width=\"700\" height=\"466\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-32892\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Our room<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The large windows frame the lush garden below with a double spa bath positioned perfectly in the corner of the room overlooking the view below. Candles are poised at the edge of the bath. Complimentary port and chocolate can be found on and inside the cabinet. Plush, deliciously cosy Papinelle robes are a welcome surprise. At each turn, another surprise awaits.<\/p>\n<p>To complete our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lastminute.com.au\/accommodation\/australia\/nsw-blue-mountains-nsw?cid=social=blog:lmau:retail::SM41:\">Blue Mountains escape<\/a>, we decide to make use of the fireplace in the lounge room, one John has already kindly set up. A strike of a match sets the fire roaring. The dancing flames are mesmerising and toasty warm. To top it off, we walk outside to the smell of a delicious, homemade breakfast. The breakfast at Edgelinks B&amp;B is with a doubt a highlight of our stay. Tables are set up at one end of the lounge room and on the terrace each table offers a fine view over the lush, old world gardens below.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_32899\" style=\"width: 949px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/images.trvl-media.com\/media\/content\/expaus\/images\/last-minute\/blog\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Edgelinks-BB-garden1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-32899\" class=\"wp-image-32899 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/images.trvl-media.com\/media\/content\/expaus\/images\/last-minute\/blog\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Edgelinks-BB-garden.jpg\" alt=\" \" width=\"939\" height=\"383\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-32899\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Edgelinks B&amp;B garden<\/p><\/div>\n<p>As equally impressive as the view, is the Vosper\u2019s culinary prowess. We take our time choosing between poached eggs, rocket and crispy prosciutto or a bacon and egg crepe with parmesan, rocket and tomato. It\u2019s a tough one. Everything that is served looks divine and the serves are so generous.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_32896\" style=\"width: 473px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"\/\/www.lastminute.com.au\/vc\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/Breakfast-on-the-Terrace.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-32896\" class=\"wp-image-32896 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/images.trvl-media.com\/media\/content\/expaus\/images\/last-minute\/blog\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Breakfast-on-the-Terrace.jpg\" alt=\" \" width=\"463\" height=\"700\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-32896\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Breakfast on the terrace<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I look longingly at my delicious breakfast wishing I could squeeze in one more mouthful. Sadly it\u2019s simply not going to happen. As I try to explain to John that I\u2019m simply just too full to finish it, John laughs about the generous breakfast servings: \u201cIf there ever comes a day when Emergency Services call to say one our guests have lost their way in the bush, at the very least I\u2019ll be able to reassure them that I\u2019ve served them a good breakfast. They\u2019ll have enough food in their bellies to last them at least a week!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He isn\u2019t wrong. Despite a full day of bushwalking (we didn\u2019t get lost fortunately!), we didn\u2019t hear a single grumble until dinner rolled around proving John\u2019s theory correct.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_32897\" style=\"width: 970px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/images.trvl-media.com\/media\/content\/expaus\/images\/last-minute\/blog\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Edgelinks-BB-breakfast1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-32897\" class=\"wp-image-32897 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/images.trvl-media.com\/media\/content\/expaus\/images\/last-minute\/blog\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Edgelinks-BB-breakfast-1024x507.jpg\" alt=\" \" width=\"960\" height=\"475\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-32897\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Edgelinks breakfast<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Dinner is important as all good romantic getaways revolve around good food and wine (well ours seem to anyway!). When it comes to deciding on a local restaurant, Kathy suggests their favourite hot spot, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/BistroNiagara\">Bistro Niagara<\/a>. We take their advice and book a table at the newly popular restaurant. Bistro Niagara is home to hearty, delicious food at reasonable prices given the large portions and high quality. Although the wine menu isn\u2019t extensive, it\u2019s again reasonable in price with a bottle costing $30 on average. The garlic prawns for entr\u00e9e are divine. Mr LML can\u2019t go past the ribs which arrive on a large wooden serving board surrounded by a mountain of thick cut chips and salad. I go for the salmon which looks dainty in comparison to Roge\u2019s dinosaur meal. Both are delicious and unfortunately leave no room for dessert.<\/p>\n<p>The next morning after yet another delicious breakfast, we sadly say goodbye to this tranquil retreat and generous hosts. We wave farewell hoping it won\u2019t be the last. This is a romantic B&amp;B we could easily come back to time and time again. Whether you\u2019re looking for a well-deserved lastminute Blue Mountains break, a getaway to celebrate a special anniversary or you feel like spoiling a loved one, you really can\u2019t go past Edgelinks. Elegant, comfortable, romantic rooms, warm and charismatic hosts and delicious, gourmet food combine for the ideal break.
