Although I\u2019m a proud Sydney girl, I\u2019ve always been the first to admit that Melbourne smashes my beloved home to smithereens in one category only \u2013 quirky watering holes.<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

However, I’ve recently had had a change of heart. Moving forward, I will be toning down this strong stand point. With the likes of Shirt Bar creeping onto the local bar scene, Sydney is starting to boast some quality drinking hot spots. I can no longer hand on heart say Sydney has been \u201csmithereened\u201d as it\u2019s simply just not true. In a battle ring of charming bars, the likes of Shirt Bar<\/a> would give any Melbourne favourite an extremely good run for their money.
\n\"Singer<\/a>Tucked away down Sussex Lane in the CBD, Shirt Bar attracts impeccably dressed guys who appreciate a quality shirt, love a pocket square and a patterned sock. Ladies who love a guy in a business shirt \u2013 which is most of the female population \u2013 sip their wine, dotting themselves around this quaint hideaway. It\u2019s your typical Friday night drinks crowd for a Sydney CBD bar. The only difference; the crowd mingles around racks of shirts.

We decide to embrace the quirkiness and take a seat right in there amongst the shirts. I\u2019m not exaggerating. I can flick through the rack of beautifully tailored designs as I sip on my cocktail and I don\u2019t have to lift my bum. The more I sip on my green cocktail creation (highly recommend the Boston Southside based on West Winds \u2018The Cutlass\u2019 Gin), the more beautiful the shirts become and the more I\u2019m tempted to buy Mr LML a Friday night present. Obviously I\u2019m the kind of customer they are looking for.

Whether you\u2019re the shirt buying type or not, anyone who loves a bar with a difference will appreciate the little touches that bring the place to life. From the old Singer sewing machines on the tables to the box of happy socks, this bar oozes oodles of charm and serves up delicious drinks. We left without a shirt but with a new favourite watering hole. Who can resist a menu that combines tailored and bespoke shirts, coffee roasted by Shirt Bar barista, Adam and quality spirits including top-notch scotch. As a side note, my vodka, soda and fresh lime is actually worth a mention. Normally I wouldn\u2019t even bother to share how my clich\u00e9, go-to drink went down. But I have to. It was delicious \u2013 666 Pure Tasmanian Vodka made all the difference.

After Shirt Bar, we make our way to dinner. As we enter the restaurant, Mr LML can\u2019t help laughing at himself. He\u2019s so proud of his dinner choice.<\/p>\n
