Chances are if you\u2019re researching where to stay in Brisbane for a work trip like I was last week, you\u2019re not interested in reading a looooong review.<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

So I\u2019ll cut to the chase. Here\u2019s everything you need to know about a stay at Punthill Brisbane<\/a>.<\/p>\n

First impressions<\/p><\/div>\n

The location<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Situated in Spring Hill, you\u2019re only two kilometres away from the heart of the CBD and a five minute walk from Central Station. Astor Terrace is relatively quiet one so you\u2019re unlikely to have any concerns with street noise (it was actually the chirping birds that woke me \u2013 not so urban!)<\/p>\n

Just next door is the Diamant Hotel, as road tested by lastminute lovely Erin.<\/a> So popping next door to O Bar and Restaurant<\/a> for breakfast\/lunch\/dinner\/cocktails is an easy option.<\/p>\n

If you want to venture slightly further, The Valley (that\u2019s Fortitude Valley to non-locals) and its food and bar scene is close by.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hot tip: <\/strong><\/em>The Brunswick Social dumpling house and bar in The Valley is a must-visit. The Fresh Scallop & Prawn Dumplings are some of the best I\u2019ve had in Oz.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The Apartment<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Retiring back to a spacious room where creature comforts are taken care of at the end of a day at the office is a business travel deal-breaker and Punthill delivers the goods.<\/p>\n\"\"<\/a>\n

\u2022 The decor<\/strong> \u2013 Clean, fresh and modern with quirky touches including a bird motif throughout the room and the entire property.<\/p>\n

\n\u2022 The bed<\/strong> \u2013 A king bed when you\u2019re travelling solo is pure luxury. The chocolates on the bedside tables are a nice touch.<\/p>\n\"<\/a>\n

\u2022 The kitchen<\/strong> \u2013 Small but well equipped with a spacious fridge, stove top, microwave and dishwasher. Love the inclusion of items beyond the usual saucepan, frypan, toaster and kettle such as a grater and bread knife (boring yet practical!)<\/p>\n\"<\/a>\n\n\n\n
Hot tip: <\/strong><\/em>A large Woolworths is less than 10 minutes walk away so if you\u2019re staying longer than a night, picking up supplies \u2013 even just for brekky – is easy.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

\u2022 The bathroom<\/strong> \u2013 On the small side, especially for an apartment, but more than fine for the solo traveller. Big ticks for the quality lighting (it\u2019s the little things) and quality shower. While it might not be Monet, the artwork courtesy of Brisbane Central State School gives a nice burst of colour.<\/p>\n

\n\u2022 The workspace<\/strong> \u2013 If duty calls, a simple desk set-up makes work easy (or can double as a spot for meals). Wi-fi access is available.<\/p>\n

\u2022 The balcony<\/strong> \u2013 The view might not be magnificent but the option to let in some fresh air with a private balcony is always appreciated.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Bikes<\/strong> \u2013 Need some wheels? Rock up to your meeting in style.<\/p>\n

\n\u2022 Pool<\/strong> \u2013 The unheated outdoor pool would be welcome for a quick dip in summer (not so much mid-July!). There\u2019s also a BBQ area to take advantage of.<\/p>\n

\n\u2022 Gym<\/strong> \u2013 An outdoor gym is always a winner for me (case in point here). It\u2019s pretty basic \u2013 one treadmill, one bike, a few weights and balance balls \u2013 but all you need assuming you can nab a machine. My only gripe was the opening hours: the 7am open time makes it tough to squeeze in a session before early meetings.<\/p>\n\"<\/a>\n

The staff<\/strong><\/h3>\n

I can\u2019t fault the staff who are friendly, approachable and helpful throughout my two night stay. Love the little touches like the weather forecast in reception.<\/p>\n\"<\/a>\n
