Tucked away in the gentle hills of England\u2019s south-west, lies the Cotswolds. It\u2019s a chocolate box pretty region with verdant hedgeways, babbling brooks and honey-coloured stone cottages. Visit the bustling villages of Stow-on-the-Wold, Lower Slaughter and Woodstock for a slice quintessential England. More tea, vicar?
\nSTAY: Regency town Cheltenham Spa <\/a>is a great base to explore this totally delightful region.<\/p>\n

Do not leave without a night on the tiles, bar hopping the city\u2019s coolest districts: the Northern Quarter, Deansgate and Castlefield.

The shadow of the medieval castle, cobbled laneways and ancient drinking holes will make you feel like you\u2019re stepping back in time Games of Thrones style. Experience legendary Scottish culture and visit during one of the city\u2019s major festivals: Snog-manay (sorry, I mean Hogmanay) and the Fringe Festival.<\/p>\n

STAY: Adjourn to a historical residence in the city\u2019s Georgian New Town.<\/p>\n

Be sure to visit St Ives\u2019 famous art gallery, sample a traditional Cornish pasty in Padstow and walk the shoreline of the strikingly pretty Mousehole.<\/p>\n
