3 reasons to visit Orange this year
Before we start, let’s get one thing clear: I’m not saying that the bigwigs like Paris, London and New York shouldn’t be on your list. What I am saying is that you shouldn’t give the little guys like Newcastle, Mudgee, and Orange the cold shoulder.
Want to know why? Here are my top 3 reasons:
-
The hotels are top-notch
In small regional towns, it’s sometimes the case that the selection of accommodation falls short. Not in Orange’s case.
We stay at de Russie Suites on Hill Street, right in the middle of town.
From the super comfy bed to the spacious bathroom and delicious breakfast items that are restocked daily, de Russie sure knows how to look after its guests.
The best bit: the little man waiting for us on the bed!
2. The wineries are wine-derful
With names like Philip Shaw, Ross Hill, Borrodell and Canobolas Smith under its belt, it’s apparent Orange knows a few things about cool-climate wines. I’ve written all about my favourite Orange wineries here.
3. The dining experiences are phenom
I like to know where my food comes from, and in Orange this is easy. With venison from Mandagery Creek Venison Farm, cheese from The Second Mouse Cheese Company, and fresh fruit from countless local orchards, Orange grows and harvests everything you need for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
