Party like Prince Harry
Has Prince Harry’s Vegas exploits inspired plans for the ultimate party holiday? Forget Contiki we’re going to Mahiki. Here are our tips to party like Prince Harry in London.
Warning: a handsome princely budget or ability to flirt outrageously with the nearby toff is strongly advised.
Nightclubs by royal appointment
Boys – don your finest red chinos and Thomas Pink shirt. Ladies – hit up the Middleton sisters’ favourite label Reiss for a fabulous frock. You’re about to enter Harry’s post-midnight world and you need to look the part. Top clubs to bag a Prince:
• The Box, Soho – Kinky cabaret show meets wild nightclub. Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Emma Watson and Keira Knightley have all been known to get their party on here. Sadly the strict no phone policy means you’re unable to capture your dalliance with royalty – dammit!
• Mahiki, Mayfair – Cult Polynesian cocktail bar frequented by the royals and A-list celebs including Kate Moss and Rihanna. Their treasure chest cocktails are infamous.
• DukeBox, Chelsea – Dubbed the new Mahiki this joint puts the ‘P’ into Party with confetti bombs, cocktails for six and Waltzer car booths.
• Boujis, South Ken – Chic A-list boutique club that gets even the Chelsea VIPs lining up.
• Salon nightclub, Mayfair – Hot dance club with Studio 54 vibe. Sasha Baron Cohen, Vivienne Westwood and the royals have been known to get down here.
Unusual nighttime exploits
We are all well acquainted with Prince Harry’s penchant for a game of billiards but did you know he enjoys other (fully clothed) early hour activities? Tick these off your royally approved bucket list in London Town:
• Take a rickshaw – Forget the royal carriage or Aston Martin, Harry has been papped scooting around Soho in the back of a pedal-powered rickshaw. Environmentally friendly and saving a royal penny or two.
• Play pub golf – Play the competitive drinking game ‘pub golf’ and sink 18 golf holes. Harry’s a fan, he’s been seen in full golfing get-up complete with plastic golf club. Party peeps inspiration!
• Go to a gig – The young royal has been spotted by a lastminute lovely at Troubadour, Earls Court, watching an up-and-coming band. Yep, he’s a cool and gritty Prince.
• Karaoke – Harry has been known to frequent Bunga Bunga bar and pizzeria, Battersea. We reckon his song of choice would have been ‘You can leave your hat on’. Too far?
• Go roller-skating – Alright Prince Harry hasn’t been snapped in roller skates but Princess Catherine infamously was as she attended a charity event. Go to Roller Disco, Vauxhall.
Capital eateries
Muscle in with the rich kids to sip Pimms, talk ponies and plan the next trip to St. Tropez. Make like the cast of Made in Chelsea and visit:
• The Phene, Chelsea – Have an alfresco soiree a la Middleton sisters in this gastro pub complete with outdoor terrace and fireplaces.
• La Bodega Negra, Soho – Don’t let the sex shop frontage deter you. If this Mexican restaurant is good enough for Prince Harry you’ll be all good.
• Bluebird, Chelsea – Dahling this institution on the Kings Rd is jammed with Chelsea socialites equipped with pashminas and Chanel sunnies. One can do a spot of shopping post-brunch on the Kings Rd too. Marvelous!
• Novikov, Mayfair – Super exclusive restaurant and bar complex owned by famous Russian restaurateur, Arkady Novikov. Panned by critics but mightily loved by the Chelsea set.

So there we have it, you’re ready to live it up like royalty. Anyone else spotted HRH whilst holidaying in London?

I know Prince Harry has been spotted at the Roof Gardens http://www.roofgardens.virgin.com/ as well – there’s even an Aussie connection as he was the guest of honour at Natalie Imbruglia’s birthday party held there in 2009!
