Top 5 things to do in Noosa

Top 5 things to do in Noosa

lastminute lovely Angela gives her top five must eat/see/do tips in Queensland’s top (posh) spot, Noosa.

Brisbanites may take the hot spot of Noosa for granted, but as a Sydneysider, a week of 30° weather and a shopping strip just off the beach is my idea of heaven! These are my top pick’s while in Noosa Heads:

1. Go for a walk in Noosa’s National Park
Located at the eastern end of Main Beach and just off Hastings Street, the National Park has walks for all fitness levels. If you’re feeling particularly active (or chasing waves) take the coastal track, there are great breaks and some even better look-out points along the way.

2. Take a dip and have a sip at the Surf Club
Just steps away from Hastings Street, Main Beach is the perfect antidote to a hot summer’s day. The beach is patrolled, and is fairly calm compared to the often washing-machine-like Bondi beach.

After paddling up a well earned thirst head up to the Noosa Heads Surf Club. Undoubtedly one of the best views of the beach, here you can enjoy a bevy or two and a seafood platter whilst watching all the beautiful people on the beach below.

3. Catch a ferry down the river
As if the beach wasn’t enough there’s also the gorgeous Noosa River. Hop on a ferry and head down to Noosaville where you can hire a kayak / jet ski / or boat for the day. If you prefer to stay on the water and not in it, book a spot on the sunset cruise with BYO drinks and nibbles.

4. Shop ‘til you drop on Hastings Street & recover with a cocktail
If you want to look the part in Noosa then you must Kaftan. There are an abundance of boutique stores along Hastings Street shopping strip, so make sure you pick up one of these flowing frocks while you’re in town.

Once your glammed up in your kaftan (and oversized sun hat) head to bistro c. Right on the beachfront, try and score a table by the entrance and you will be set for the day. The cocktails are fab (try the b-c, very refreshing) and the 3pm to 5pm tapas and cocktail menu is great value.

5. Finish off the day with something sweet (that’s my motto)
For ice cream with a twist visit Nitrogenie in the Laguna on Hastings arcade. With different recipes daily (wished up by an ice cream genie) this ice cream is super fresh and tasty, created by using liquid nitrogen to instantly freeze the yummy concoctions on offer.
