The Roommate
Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester plays Rebecca, an awkward art student who forms an obsessive relationship with her roommate, fashion student Sara (Minka Kelly). What starts out as a normal friendship turns into an unbalanced obsession as Rebecca seeks to ‘sort out’ any possible threat that could take Sara away from her.
Perfect for: Chilling, with many edge-of-your-seat moments, this stocking filler thriller would be great for the uni bound sister or BFF with a love of suspenseful movies with an added arty touch.

Bad Teacher
If you’ve ever had a bad teacher, no one could top Miss Halsey played by leggy Cameron Diaz. She’s a foul mouthed alcoholic waiting for her prince charming AKA Sugar Daddy to give her a life of luxury – and she has her sights set on the wealthy yet extremely awkward substitute teacher played by Justin Timberlake.
Perfect for: This crude, sexy comedy is full of laughs, a great cast and a stereotype ‘moral to the story’ ending – all in all a movie which would please any brother or friend with ‘that’ sense of humour. Come on, we all know at least one!

Soul Surfer
This is the inspiring true story of teenage surfer Bethany Hamilton’s sheer determination to get back into the water after a shark attack. This is wholesome, classic Hollywood family viewing at its best, with Helen Hunt and Dennis Quaid brilliantly playing the roles of Bethany’s parents.
Perfect for: The movie is perfect chick flick territory for sisters, besties and mums who enjoy a night in on the couch with a box of chocs and a tear jerker.
