Rendezvousing in the river city and don’t know where to rest your head? Let me give you the royal treatment and do the investigative work with a wrap up of my recent stay at Royal on the Park.
Location
Located next door to the riverside City Botanic Gardens, Royal on the Park is smack bang in the middle of the action. Whether you’re here to fist pump at the latest Riverstage gig, shop up a storm on Queen Street Mall, sample some culinary goodies from a ‘Top 100 Aussie Restaurant’, or just overnighting for your next big work conference, whatever the occasion, Royal on the Park will have you a short walk from A to B.
Not ready to dust off your walking shoes from last spring? No worries. Royal on the Park has an on-site car park which you (or the valet) can take advantage of.
The Room – Luxury Spa Suite
Move over Queen Lizzie! It’s time to settle into the Luxury Spa Suite, and let me assure you, it’s royal, it’s big, and it’s worth every penny! Spanning the full width of the hotel (yep, the entire width of the hotel) you can curtsy (or cartwheel) your way down the hall from lounge room to bedroom. This inner city hotel knows how to maximise space, not matchbox it.
Fitted with luxury furnishings and an oh-so-comfy king sized bed, there is no skimping out here. Oh, and let’s not forget the view. The beautiful parklands are a sight for sore eyes, and most definitely beat the views you’d find in most CBD hotels.
The Bathroom(s)
You read right. The bathroom’s’. Plural. Because what royal wouldn’t need two, right? Right. Bathroom numero uno is your basic ‘dirt off and dry’ kind of space, fitted with a shower, toilet, basin and all the relevant amenities. Bathroom number two is where the real royal treatment kicks in. Think giant spa bath with uninterrupted views of the parklands… or TV. Whatever floats your boat; you’ll want it floating right here.
The little things that count
Champers on arrival, check; Nespresso machine, check; iPad, check; iPod docking station, check; Morrissey toiletries, check; cute little teddies on the bed, check. I think you get the picture – this place ticks every box with everything you’ll need and more.
The food
Two words I love to hear whenever I’m spending the night at a hotel. Buffet brekkie.
I’m a little scared this blog post will go on for days if I list what was on offer, so let these food snaps do the talking #nomnomnom #foodporn #stuffedmyface
Bottom Line
The hotel name hits the nail on the head. It’s royal, it’s on the park, and it’s my latest top pick for a night away in Brisvegas. Traditional and elegant, yet stylish and savvy. With room rates on lastminute.com.au averaging between $150 – $450, there’s a little bit of royalty waiting for every kind of traveller.
