Even though I live on the Gold Coast, it’s nice to be spoiled every now and again, especially with a super luxurious weekend in a Surfers Paradise hotel. For me, the only thing that can top a luxe getaway, is one with a stunning view of the beach below (from the 14th floor), and the sound of crashing waves to accompany the peaceful backdrop to waking up on a sunny Sunday morning.
The latest of the 5-star offerings on the Gold Coast is the swanky Sea Temple Surfers Paradise at Soul, positioned right on the Esplanade and only moments from bustling Cavill Avenue (Hot tip – keep your eyes peeled for the sign for Soul as it’s not abundantly clear from the street).
So what’s best about this place? Apart from the view – its stylish interiors and spacious rooms. Here’s a sneak peek.
Whilst it’s taken a beating with its reputation in recent times, Surfers Paradise can still arguably boast some of the most breathtaking views of the southern Queensland coastline. And with new developments such as the Sea Temple franchise moving in, it can offer even more reason to not write off the GC just yet.
We stayed in a comfortable 2-bedroom apartment with large contemporary kitchen, cozy living area that looked out onto a sweeping balcony, which included a large dining table perfect for relaxing with another couple or group of visiting friends to watch the sunset over a glass or two of red.

On the second floor of Sea Temple is Seaduction Restaurant. The time has come for a Gold Coast dining venue like this one, mimicking the familiar chic 20s-modern décor (especially in the foyer and bar) prominent in many bars and restaurants in Melbourne.
Seaduction has that added bonus of a picturesque ocean vista through its floor to ceiling glass doors. Sitting at the table feels warm and intimate with only the buzz of other patrons creating a soft, moody backdrop.
Seaduction manages to create an atmosphere both pleasant and inviting with the wait staff very keen to please. Their excitement (but not their level of service) I imagine will settle as the restaurant moves from being brand new to holding a respected status among the Gold Coast nightlife.
But the proof is in the pudding (so they say) and under executive chef Steve Szabo, the menu offers edgy and vibrant interpretations of some of the expected highlights you see on modern cuisine.
We especially enjoyed our entrees of seared scallops served with braised pork cheek, sweet corn custard and mushroom foam (foam is so hot right now!) and tortellini of goats cheese with baby beetroot gel crushed walnuts, mandarin and burnt butter. For dessert I was in awe of my deconstructed cheesecake.
