12 last minute Valentine’s Day ideas that will woo your other half

  1. Hijack your partner’s phone and change the wallpaper to a nice message for them. Surprisingly thoughtful! Download the background image here
  2. Subscription it up. They’re online and immediate – perfect for the panicked, I mean efficient, gift giver.
  3. Last minute vacay – nothing says romance like a cheeky getaway. Book a weekend away or keep it close to home with a luxe hotel stay in the city. Find travel deals here.
  4. Personalise a normal daily item with your own addition. For example, take the label off their favourite drink and add your own label to it – perhaps with a photo of them or listing your ‘love potion’?.
  5. Wake them up with a video. This is something my husband actually did! He recorded a video on our mac with love-hearts coming out of his head. Soooo tacky, so meaningful, and so good! You could easily do this on your phone too.
  6. Transform the back of a deck of cards into reasons you love your other half. Yes that’s right, 52 reasons.
  7. Make the ultimate breakfast in bed. I’m talking OTT. Prepare all their favourite brekky foods. Or better still make it a five course extravaganza.
  8. Make a Sharpie-love-mug. Get a $2 mug and permanent sharpie, and write things around the cup that you love about them or even borrow a love poem from online.
  9. Book classes online – It could be a cooking class, surfing class, beer making class, or ice cream making class, the options are endless and something you can both enjoy together.
  10. Make a reservation for dinner, and don’t share all the details. Surprises are better.
  11. Offer a shopping spree – this one will earn you serious cred with both your partner and his or her friends. Who wouldn’t enjoy guilt free retail therapy?!
  12. “Open when” envelopes. Get 20 envelopes labelled with ‘Open When’… followed by a feeling, situation or thought. Personalise it as much as you want, and put something thoughtful in the envelope. This gift will keep on giving past V-day too – win-win!
