Mmmm, I love donuts.
I’m an addict and Mr LML definitely agrees with me. I want them for breakfast, lunch and I’m always keen to have donuts for dinner, even though it’s socially frowned upon (we need to change that!) Writing this blog has added fuel to the fire, all of these donut stores are now on my bucket list (or re-added so I can eat more!) and you should probably add them to yours too- there are never enough donuts 😉
Here are my top 10 donut stores to jump on a plane for:

Doughnut time is Brisbane’s pride and joy of donuts and their crazy flavour combinations get you instantly addicted to their ever changing menu. From my personal favourite Katy Berry (raspberry glaze, white choc curls and raspberry powder) to the epic Glazed and Confused (caramel glaze and salty chips) to the PB&J donut above (you should know what this one is!), there’s a flavour combo for everyone. Matt Preston even paid a visit to their Fortitude Valley store to see what all the fuss is about! 😉
Doughnut Plant, New York City – USA

They have four locations over New York City as well as nine in Tokyo and one in South Korea. Their latest creation is a Candy Corn inspired donut, filled with house-made corn pudding and covered with a vanilla saffron turmeric glaze…*droooool*!

They cater to events, weddings and even baby showers! I know what you’re thinking and even though it’s Amsterdam, they’ve kept their flavours G rated so that the whole family can enjoy 😉 My personal favourite would have to be the Marble Bloomin Blueberry followed closely by the Totally Coconuts.

Based in Sydney, Grumpy Donuts certainly give the local sydneysiders their donut fix. They have lots of flavours (new ones added all the time!) and despite the name won’t leave you grumpy, you’ll be completely content once you’ve bitten into one of these amazing donuts. If you’ve over indulged and can’t leave your hotel to get more, they deliver-woo! I recommend the Vanilla Oreo Ring or S’mores donut, mmm!
Beechwood Doughnuts, Ontario – Canada
Browned Butter Pecan? Yes please. A photo posted by Beechwood Doughnuts (@beechwooddoughnuts) on
Last but certainly not least, are Beechwood Doughnuts in Ontario, Canada. These guys sell fresh, handmade, 100% vegan donuts – perfect for anyone, not just the vegans and vegetarians out there! They have over 15 flavours to choose from but I think I would definitely go for the Apple Fritter or the Browned Butter Pecan donut….talk about delish!
