Launceston has bucket loads of charm, mostly in the form of heritage buildings and 100-year-old parks and gardens, although the locals are charmers too. Cataract Gorge is just a 15-minute walk from the city centre – a touch of Tassie wilderness close to town. For the best view of the area, take a ride on the world’s longest single-span chairlift, then stop at the local café for a cuppa.
Bed was very comfortable and room was very central to lots of things
This property was so disappointing after staying in same at Hobart. Supposed to be refurbished however had portable noisey air conditioner and when asked staff about it was told, it wasnt hot so i should not need. Tv was very old flat screen. Programmed to make noise on turn off and on. Old movielink ...
This hotel is ideally located with a short stroll to cafes, shops, waterfront. The hotel is in reasonable condition - but may be due for a refresh. Staff were friendly and helpful. One complaint...the pillows were super hard (by my standards) and I tried all of them.
Comfortable and close to restaurants and city. Location is good and will be better once the development in the area is finalised.
Handy location in centre of town, very helpful reception staff. Overall a very pleasant stay and manager gave us a late checkout with no time frame on it - we actually got out by 10.30 but nice gesture on hotels behalf and takes off the pressure when fitting in last minute activities.
Parking was awful. Walking up 3 flights of stairs with luggage was ridiculous. The beds were horrible. Staff were disinterested & too busy having a smoke outside then being in reception
We called this motel and were told there were no double rooms available. 5 minutes later, we found a double room available on lastminute.com The motel is a very old 2-storey house, the grounds are neglected. Our room (5) was 3 steps across the hall from the front door and the reception office. Every ...
Our apartment was in the perfect position to explore Launceston. The building itself is beautiful and access to parking is right across the road. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The large windows looking out onto the street were perfect to stare out of while drinking a coffee in bed.
We stayed for a week in winter. The apartment was warm and cozy with all the facilities and character needed. As we arrived late at night, we found the arrival process well communicated before arrival and easy to follow. We’ll definitely be staying again.
From arriving to leaving our experience was nothing short of excellent. The breakfast supplied in fridge was indeed hearty. The rooms were warm and comfortable. And we used WhatsApp to communicate and they were very prompt. Will be back to stay next time in Launceston
Good location. Nice easy walk to our event venues. Rooms were large, clean and comfortable with character and charm. The downside we had the air conditioning units outside our door creating noise all night.
