It lies 1,600 kilometres to the southwest of Tokyo, the capital city of Japan.

What could be more calming than enjoying a cool breeze by the water's edge? Make your way to Kise Beach or Mission Beach for a great day out.

Break out on an adventure to some surrounding natural attractions. 50 kilometres out of Zamami, Tatami Ishi is all yours to discover. Cape Zanpa, 45 kilometres away, is another sensational spot to kick back.

Pick up a coffee and make your way to the Zamami Port. After you're done there, have a stickybeak at Chishi Observatory.

Are you into stopping at the Tokashiki Port and Aharen Beach? They're close to the centre of Aka, 6 kilometres to the southwest. Alternatively, travel to Tokashiki. It's 13 kilometres to the east of Zamami and known for Tokashiki-jima Island and Nagannu Island.

Heading to Naha? This destination is only 35 kilometres to the east. If you're setting up camp here, make sure you visit Shurijo Castle, Makishi Public Market and Naminoue Beach. Also consider stopping by the Tsuboya Pottery Museum and DFS Galleria Okinawa.

A fine day is an ideal opportunity to venture outside and spend a relaxed afternoon cycling. If the agreeable weather stays, also consider going sunbathing.
