"Nice and relaxing. Must needed time out"
We needed a break so this resort looked amazing. The down side is no playground or area for small kids and no BBQ area. Something that we value on family holidays. Private plunge pool really needs to be heated. Only good in hot weather.

"Very stylish resort with beautiful views"
Lovely loft apartments with amazing views of marina and Salamander bay. We seen dolphins from our balcony and pelicans sunning themselves each morning. Close to shops and great places to eat out. I enjoyed the buffet breakfast very much and was sad to leave! I can recommend this place highly to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday.

The Landmark Resort Nelson Bay - Nelson Bay Hotels

The Landmark Resort Nelson Bay

Dowling Street, Nelson Bay - Map
The motel looked good in the reception area, however it is obvious that the rooms had been updated in style but seemed to be done in a rush. Old picture hooks were left on walls and nail holes where things had been moved to different places. The ceilings clearly needed cleaning and the grout on the bathroom walls clearly needed a good clean. Other than those things the room was comfortable and tidy and easily accessible.

Located in New South Wales, Port Stephens is a fantastic holiday destination with lots to see and do and heaps of diversity. On the east coast, it is known as the blue water paradise, and when you’re there gazing into the deep blue ocean it’s easy to understand why! Great for couples, friends, and solo vacationers, Port Stephens combines beaches, outdoor activities, great food, terrific shopping, a strong cultural identity, and an atmosphere that will make you wish you could stay longer! It is also a great destination all throughout the year, so there’s no need for loads of advance planning. Have a look at our excellent Port Stephens accommodation – go on, treat yourself!

Aboriginal tribes inhabited the area for many years before settlers arrived. Although most Aborigines had left the area by the early 1900s, there are a number of interesting sites that show the culture and traditions from the earlier years. There are burial sites, ceremonial spots, and sacred areas.

    Things to do

With over 25 beautiful beaches, it’s little wonder that many visitors spend at least a few days enjoying the sun, sea, sand, and surf. Snorkeling and diving are also popular activities; Fly Point is a particularly favourite spot, with underwater caves, wrecks, and lots of marine life. It’s really common to spot dolphins swimming in the waters, and you can take a whale watching trip between May and November to watch in awe as humpback whales swim past you. Nearby islands provide perfect excursions. Enjoy a spot of relaxing fishing and explore the magnificent and mighty sand dunes. Take a stroll through the dunes, go on a jeep safari, or feel the rush as you sand board down the slopes. Get close to nature in the gorgeous Tomaree National Park – there are lots of bush walking trails and the chances of seeing a range of wildlife are really high. If you climb to the lookout point you will be rewarded with amazing views out over the area. Some other favourite places include the Tea Gardens and Nelson Head Lighthouse.

    Shopping and dining

Port Stephens is a boutique shopping paradise, and you are sure to be impressed with the delicious local cuisine. Dine at top class restaurants or grab a quick bite from one of the street sellers … make sure you try some of the fresh and tasty locally caught seafood and fish as well as the local wine.

    Getting here and around

You can book a cheap flight to Newcastle to explore the delightful Port Stephens. By road, it is around two and a half hours away from Sydney, and trains also connect the area with the rest of New South Wales.
