It's situated 340 kilometres southwest of Quito, the nation's capital.

Spend the day skipping stones and collecting shells by the water's edge at Chipipe Beach or General Villamil Beach.

Looking for some other close-by destinations? Morro is about 6 kilometres to the east, so get in the car and start exploring! Alternatively, Engabao, 13 kilometres northwest of Playas, is also worthy of your time.

Guayaquil, 75 kilometres to the northeast, may be worthy of a day trip. Use it as a base when visiting the World Trade Center, San Marino Mall and City Mall. If you need more convincing, other close by attractions include Policentro and the U.S. Consulate General.
