Vietnam's capital city, Hanoi, is located around 220 kilometres to the southeast of Nam Chi.

You don't need to be on the road all day to experience some nature. Just 45 kilometres out of Nam Chi, Sapa Lake is a terrific place to kick back and relax. Even more tranquil surrounds await at Thai Giang Pho Waterfall, 12 kilometres away.

Don't just watch sport on the big screen, feel it, experience it and live it at Tang Loong stadium! Located 20 kilometres away in Sapa, it's the ideal place to get your fix whether you're going for the home or away team.

If you have ample time, why not head to a few nearby places? Lao Cai and Sapa are 17 kilometres and 30 kilometres away, respectively.

Hekou, 35 kilometres to the west, is worth a day trip. Use it as a base when swinging by the Thuy Hoa Park, the Den Mau Temple and the China-Vietnam Border Crossing. If you'd like more convincing, other nearby attractions include Hekou Customs Site and Gushan Cave Ancient Site.

Your eyes shouldn't have all the fun while you're in Lao Cai. Give your taste buds a little loving too by indulging in some of the local food and drink. After all, you haven't truly experienced a destination until you've tasted its flavours.
