On arrival, we were given a welcome cocktail, but we felt that the member of reception checking us in was efficient enough but slightly disinterested . We were directed to our room - no porter in sight, but there was a lift and we were only one floor up. However, there was a damp smell from the hall carpets which was off putting. Our room seemed clean, bed was fine, but room was smallish and basic. However, there was a fridge with bottled water, and a coffee maker and Starbucks coffee - both of which were replenished as often as requested. The resort fee also covered beds at the beach and beach towels, wifi in hotel and bikes. . We also got local discounts -15% at the diner across the road which we used a few times. The small pool is fine and the pool area is comfortable with beds and umbrellas. There is a play garden with various activities - good for families, On the negative side, the hotel bar - within the reception area - was rarely open, but there was constant blaring music played all day long. The room cleaning was a bit hit or miss and the bed was only changed when we advised that we had ants. We stayed 10 nights, and beds were due to be changed every 3 nghts, so this was disappointing. After our complaint, the cleaning was more thorough. The hotel is in a good central location, near beach and restaurants/bars but away from the noise of Ocean Drive. After check-in, the staff and concierge were friendly and helpful, and we mainly enjoyed our stay.
