If you're thinking about expanding your horizons, go 8 kilometres northwest to Kyogoku-cho. It's here you'll discover Mount Yotei and Kyogoku Spring Water Village. We also recommend going to Rusutsu, 9 kilometres to the south, for Makkarigawa Kasenkoen and Road Station Makkari Flower Center.
Heading to Niki-cho? This destination is only 40 kilometres to the north. If you're staying here a little while, get a map and circle the Fruits Park Niki, the Yoichi Wine Brewery and the Yoichi Space Dome. Also consider stopping by the Nikka Whiskey Distillery Yoichi and Yamamoto Sightseeing Orchard.
An invigorating way to explore the surrounding area is to go on an outdoor adventure. Mountain climbing is one of the most popular pastimes around here. But if you'd rather try something else, there's always hiking.
