Holidays in Insadong

Do you look at every travel deal that hits your inbox? Find yourself fanatically stalking travel hashtags? You need a holiday stat and Insadong, a neighbourhood in Seoul, is calling your name. The capital of South Korea is home to around 10,300,000 people and one of the best cities to really experience the nation's culture and history. From Gimpo International Airport, Insadong is a commute of 16 kilometres to the east. If you're arriving via central Seoul, you'll find the neighbourhood 0.6 kilometres to the northeast.

This city isn't short on impressive things to do, and you'll uncover many of them near Insadong. It's a challenge to choose the top sights, but Dongdaemun Market and Gyeongbok Palace are two you really shouldn't miss. After taking a look at those, you're going to want to head onwards to the COEX Convention and Exhibition Center and the National Museum. For a fresh perspective on the city, organise an outing to Seoul and Myeongdong, nearby neighbourhoods just waiting to be explored.

Searching for some inspiration on things to do in the city centre? Start by feasting your eyes on the Korea University and the Sungnyemun Gate. Deoksugung Palace and N Seoul Tower should also be part of any excursion downtown.

Looking to blow off a bit of steam? Exciting options include Korea House, Supsok Hanbang Land, the Seven Luck Casino Millennium Seoul Hilton Branch and sanmotoonge.

Some terrific cultural attractions are waiting for you. Start at the Sejong Cultural Center, the Arko Art Center, the Gallery Hyundai and the Kukje Gallery.

Breathe easy while you check out the stimulating art collections on display at the Seoul Museum of Art, the Leeum Samsung Museum of Art, the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul and the Artsonje Center. When you've finished, why not grab a coffee from a local café and contemplate your time there?

Peer into glass cabinets and learn all about the objects on display as you meander through the interesting collections of the Lock Museum, the Modern Design Museum, the Ewha Womans University Museum and the Agriculture Museum.

There's nothing like the atmosphere of excitement when a live show is about to kick off. Take your seat and watch the curtains go up at the Chongdong Theater, the National Theater, the Seoul Namsan Gugakdang and the Hongdae Music Show Theatre.

Kids can have fun in rather surprising locations. Delight them with trips to Ssamji-gil, 63 SeaWorld, the Seoul Animation Center and the 63 Wax Museum.

The little ones can get sick of sightseeing. Cheer them up with a few hours at one of the area's action-packed family attractions. Seodaemun Independence Park, Taehwa Bowling Center and Hannam Bowling Center are well worth checking out.

If you're blessed with a sunny day, fill your lungs with fresh, clean air and enjoy a spot of nature at Mt. Inwang, Seoul Floating Islands and Baeksasil Valley.

If the vigour of the city is becoming too much, recharge your batteries with a visit to one of the nearby parks. Namsan Park, Seoul Forest, Tapgol Park and Sajik Park are lovely spots to relax under the shade of the trees.

A great way to remember your holiday is by taking home a few souvenirs. See what you can find at Namdaemun Market, Lotte Department Store, Yongsan Electronics Market and Seoul Folk Flea Market.

Step back through the mists of time at the War Memorial of Korea, Changgyong Palace, Changdeokgung Palace and the Sungkyunkwan University. These historic places have a collection of interesting stories to tell.

Uncover the region's spiritual side or just take a moment in the quiet surroundings of the Jogyesa Temple, Jongmyo Shrine, Myeongdong Cathedral and Waryongmyo Shrine.

Whether you follow a particular team or just want to get caught up in the electric atmosphere, don't miss the opportunity to attend a live game at Seoul World Cup Stadium. Don't be afraid to join in any chants, songs or Mexican waves that occur while you're there, particularly if local heroes the Korean Republic National Team or the Seoul FC are the ones on the field!

Great option for Seoul.
"It was our first time to Seoul and we thought that the ENA has an excellent location, large rooms, comfortable stay. Great wifi. We would stay here again. Only thing is that in-house guests must pay to use the pool, which we thought was strange."
