Holidays in Inagi-shi

One thing all of us can agree on is that travel is life. So dig out your suitcase, kiss your nanna goodbye and set off to Inagi-shi! A Tokyo neighbourhood, it's a great base for exploring this buzzing city's sights. The capital of Japan is home to some 8,300,000 people. Don't be afraid to get out and introduce yourself to a few of them! From Haneda Airport, Inagi-shi is about 30 kilometres to the west. If you're coming via central Tokyo, you'll find the suburb 25 kilometres to the west.

This city isn't short on things to see and do, and many of them can be found near Inagi-shi. It's a challenge to choose the top attractions, but the Museum of Japanese Houses and Sanrio Puroland are a couple you shouldn't miss. Don't forget to put the Tama Zoo and the Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum on your checklist as well. For another perspective on Tokyo, spend some time at Chofu and Shiomidai, close-by neighbourhoods that are definitely worth a peek.

Tokyo Tower is one of those things that needs to be seen in real life, not just in travel magazines. Located just 2 kilometres from the centre, you've got no excuses to skip it.

The city centre is also home to a multitude of sights to lay your eyes upon, such as Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building and Tsukiji Fish Market. Alternatively, have a look around Yasukuni Shrine and the Tokyo National Museum.

Find out about the cultural scene at the Nihon Minka-En, the Open-Air Folk House Museum, the Parthenon Tama and Musashikokufuato.

If you've got a love of art, plan a visit to the Taro Okamoto Museum of Art and the Fuchu Art Museum. Take a look around and if one of the works gets you thinking, chat to the staff about its creator.

There's no saying what you'll find when walking around the interesting exhibits of the Japan Racing Association Hall of Fame, National Astronomical Observatory of Japan and Tokyo Buried Cultural Assets Center. If you don't want to miss anything, see if you can hop on a guided tour.

Young ones can get bored of sightseeing. Put smiles back on their faces with a trip to one of the area's action-packed family attractions. Yomiuriland, Sakuragaoka Park, Nogawa Park and Yomiuri Land are all hot tickets.

Step outside and savour the vistas at Keio Mogusaen, the Ikuta Ryokuchi Rose Garden and the Keio Floral Garden Ange.

Discover the beauty of the Jindai Botanical Gardens and Ikuta Park. If you're lucky, you may even spot some of the local animals!

Pack a tasty picnic and invite a couple of friends down to have a laugh in one of the relaxing green spaces nearby. Choose from Kyodonomori Park, Fuchunomori Park, Tama Central Park and Haramine Park.

The Fuchu no Mori Museum, Tama Cemetery, Birthplace of Kondo Isami and Shinguruma Waterwheel have so many stories to tell. History geek or not, you'll be sure to find out something at these age-old sites.

If you're intrigued by different religions, you shouldn't miss the Jindaiji Temple, Fuda Tenjinsha Shrine, the Ozenji Temple and the Musashi Kokubunji Temple.

Dress in blue and red and join the masses of fanatic soccer fans with an undying love for the Tokyo FC. All the action happens at Ajinomoto Stadium, just a short commute from Inagi-shi.
