Holidays in Chinatown

Say hell yeah to amazing new adventures in Chinatown! Whether you're visiting Gold Coast for a long time or a good time, this neighbourhood is a fine base for sussing out what the city has to offer. This cool city is home to 600,000 people — don't be afraid to mingle with one or two of them during your visit. Are you touching down at Brisbane Airport? Hop into a taxi and travel 70 kilometres southeast to get to Chinatown. If you're coming from central Gold Coast, you'll need to travel 6 kilometres to the north.

Chinatown is a sightseer's dream. A lot of the city's top attractions are dotted near this fascinating neighbourhood, including Sea World and the Star Gold Coast. You should also be sure to take a look around Cavill Avenue and Surfers Paradise Beach. While you're here, think about visiting some other neighbourhoods to see more of what Gold Coast has to offer. Southport and Tedder Avenue are great suggestions that are close by.

Gain a deeper understanding of the local culture at the Draculas Haunted House, the Arts Centre Gold Coast and the Spirit of Gold Coast.

The fairways of the Emerald Lakes Golf Club, the Parkwood International Golf Course, the Royal Pines Resort Golf Course and the Carrara Gardens Golf Course are calling. Work on your swing, challenge some friends to a round and try to drop some strokes off your game.

Kids tend to have fun in rather unexpected locations. Delight them with trips to the Wax Museum and Gold Coast Aquatic Centre.

Kids don't want to spend all day cooped up in a hotel. Give them what they want and spend a day at one or two of the area's family-friendly attractions. You can choose from Slingshot, Timezone, Infinity Attraction and King Tutts Putt Putt.

If the stress of the city is wearing you thin, recharge your batteries in one of the local green spaces. Philip Park, Broadwater Parklands, Doug Jennings Park and Parklands Gold Coast are lovely spots to kick back and relax.

A holiday is the ideal time to splash out a bit and grab a souvenir or two. Be sure to have a walk through Harbour Town, Broadbeach Mall, Australia Fair Shopping Centre and Marina Mirage Shopping Centre!

Learn more about the past at one or two of the area's historic sites, such as Sand Pumping Jetty, the Queensland Korean War Memorial, SkyPoint Climb and the Anzac Park.

Get kitted out in red, gold and blue, head towards Metricon Stadium and excitedly cheer on the Gold Coast Suns. A visit to this stadium is compulsory for passionate Australian rules football (AFL) fans!
