When you see seriously stunning landscapes plastered all over the telly, it's hard not to get jelly. So why not spoil yourself with a holiday in Betz and experience the postcard-perfect rural landscapes and beaches of Picardy?
The nation's capital, Paris, is located approximately 55 kilometres to the southwest of Betz.
Take a short trip to Ermenonville, 19 kilometres away. Once you've arrived, you should head straight to Parc Asterix.
Travel a little out of Betz and you'll stumble on some wonderful natural sights. Just 30 kilometres away, Compiegne Forest is an excellent spot to recharge your batteries. We also recommend Prince's Vegetable Garden, 35 kilometres away from Betz.
Thinking of stopping by Chaalis Abbey and Domaine de Chaalis? They're not far from the centre of Fresnoy-le-Luat, 15 kilometres to the northwest. Alternatively, go to Haramont. It's 16 kilometres to the northeast of Betz and known for Chateau de Pierrefonds and Chateau Francois 1er.
About 30 kilometres to the west, Pontarme is a place that has lots to offer. The Morfontaine Golf Club, Castle Pontarme and Les Etangs de Commelles are all quite close. Keep in mind, the Senlis Museums and Cathédrale de Notre Dame are also worthwhile.
Cycling and bird watching are enjoyable ways to take a breather if your grueling travel schedule has left you feeling worn out.
Confused about what to see and do first? Sometimes the best way to experience a place is to hop on a couple of tours. The region offers some outstanding guided nature walks, cycling tours and city walking tours.
Take in the region's history museums. They are especially good places to visit when the weather takes a turn.
Get to know the area's past by making your way to the local castles, traditional villages, old towns and war relics and monuments. If a tour guide isn't around, ensure you do some of your own research.
If you like to ponder what life is really all about, consider exploring Betz's churches, cathedrals and monasteries. While we can't promise you'll come to any conclusions, you're sure to at least find a bit of peace and quiet.
'There is no love sincerer than the love of food,' George Bernard Shaw once said, but throw travel into the mix and it's a marriage made in heaven. You're invited to combine your two loves by eating and drinking your way across Picardy.
When Betz locals talk about their food, you might hear flamique a porions (leek tart) or tart au maroilles (cheese tart) mentioned once or twice. These classic dishes are an important part of the region and should be on any foodie's list.
Experienced travellers will usually make time to memorise a few words and phrases in the local tongue. Many find that being able to communicate with the locals isn't just useful, it's really fun too! 'Ça va bien, merci. Et toi/vous?' may be very handy. It translates to 'fine thanks, and you?'. Maybe you'll find 'Je suis de…' a little bit easier to say? It means 'I am from..'.
If you're thinking of visiting Betz in July, you'll want to be here on the 14th for Bastille Day. There's always a buzz in the air leading up to this national day of festivities.
You may be poor in European euros when your trip comes to an end, but you'll be rich in incredible experiences. "Au revoir / À bientôt" Betz!
With a little preparation, making it to Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), the closest airport, shouldn't be too much trouble. It's around 35 kilometres southwest of the centre of Betz.
