Healthy suitcase hacks with Amanda Bisk and Laura Henshaw

Ok, we’ll admit it. Staying healthy on holiday can be hard, especially when you’re traveling to destinations that have delicious food (read: donuts ) on every corner.

We got in touch with health and fitness babes Amanda Bisk and Laura Henshaw who gave us the goss on what to pack to help you stay in shape while still eating ALL the delicious things on holiday.

Amanda always packs:

#1: A yoga mat: I have a lightweight one so I can workout/stretch anywhere, even on hard ground!

#2: My training guide ‘Fresh Body Fit Mind’:
It’s a great collection of workouts that don’t need any equipment and you can do them in 2m x 2m of space! Perfect for hotel rooms, the park, or even the airport.

#3: Training clothes: It sounds easy enough, but making sure you have training clothes for all sorts of weather is crucial (jackets, socks, hat- all weatherproof). I usually pack all of my training stuff first and I also pack at least two pairs of running shoes (so if one pair gets wet, I still have another pair to use while they dry.)

Laura always packs:

#1: My runners and workout gear: No matter where I travel I always bring my workout gear so I can stay active while I am away. I always check out the running tracks around my hotel and close by gyms if I don’t have one where I am staying.

#2: Skipping rope/ boxing gloves: I always pack something that I can use to do a hotel workout if I don’t have access to a gym or a nearby running track. I make myself a circuit using what I can in the room to get my heart rate up so I have no excuses! The ultimate hotel workout can be found here.

#3: My Fitbit:
I just recently got a FitBit Surge watch and it comes with me everywhere! It tracks my heart rate while I am working out and also has a GPS to track my run and steps. It’s a great tool to have while you’re away to track how far you’re walking and track out a good run to explore the city.
