Seating

You can choose the seat you want...

During booking

After booking

Change your seat assignment

How it works

Airlines assign seats based on availability and your preferences.

  1. Go to the airline's website to change your seating assignment.
  2. Enter your airline confirmation code (from your itinerary) and follow the instructions.

Airlines may also require:

Baggage

Baggage allowance and fees

Carry-on baggage
Most airlines allow you to bring the following items on board:

  1. 1 carry-on bag
  2. 1 personal item (such as a purse or briefcase)

Carry-on bags should not exceed 115 linear cm (the total of the height, width, and depth of the bag). Larger bags must be checked. Please don't be THAT person trying to cram a massive suitcase into the overhead locker; it's just poor form.

Checked baggage

Your airline's website is the best place to find information about baggage allowances, prohibited items, and sports equipment. Head to our Baggage Information page for a quick link to your airline's baggage policy.

For a full list of prohibited items on domestic and international flights, please read the Australian Government's TravelSECURE website.

Baggage fees
You can see the estimated baggage fees for each flight during your search by selecting Show Flight Details.

Baggage fees might vary depending on:

  1. Whether you pay for your bags online or at the airport
  2. The number, size, and weight of your bags
  3. The time of year you are travelling
  4. Your frequent flyer membership level
  5. Your military status

Want to save some cash? Check in online and pay any baggage fees on your airline's website before you fly.

Good to know

  1. If your flight is ticketed by one airline but operated by another, the fees and baggage policy for your entire trip are those of the ticketing airline.
  2. For trips booked with multiple airlines, you might pay different baggage fees for your outbound and return flights.
  3. If you booked with a low-cost airline, you may be restricted to just one piece of hand luggage.
