All those things which used to make the English feel so much at home - lumpy mattresses, discoloured walls, uncomfortable chairs and staff chosen for their ability to communicate with all the charm of a monolith are not found here. Staying at the Boar's Head lends a feeling of exclusivity, particularly when it comes to the details like complimentary access to Ripley Castle's bewitching lakes, walled gardens, grounds and deer park. The Boar's Head also has the unique pleasure of featuring antiques from the castle. Lady Ingilby's sense of style has influenced the bedroom design, as has her sense of fun. In each bathroom a small toy boat may be found for entertaining the young and the young at heart
